Staff up-graded us to larger room without asking. We requested and were given room high up, on 2nd subsequent stay, asked for room with alternate view and accommodated. WiFi worked well in room. Room large, upgraded, very clean, cleaning staff great, great view, walking distance to Stanley Pk, Canada Place, Gastown, Chinatown, downtown shopping, restaurants, theatre. We asked for Superior Queen and were given Superior double Queen. Double corner windows & balcony great! Frig & coffeemak.
all reviews » Visit Vancouver for several years and also stay at different hotel in downtown, Blue Horizon is my favorite. Stay there more than three times, staff is very kind and helpful, price is reasonable, room is big and clean, facility is convenience and comfort. Location is excellent, right down in the central of Robson street, good for shopping and also esay walk to the Stanley park. This year, when I made the resevation, I required quiet room and away from elevator, hotel reply me my room rate is n. Located in a great residential and shopping neighborhood with the perfect balance of city activity and tranquility at night for sleeping. Close to downtown, the water and Stanley Park. Staff was exemplary both in their actions and their demeanor to guests. One of us worked in the hotel room all week and the Internet was reliable and the housekeeping staff very flexible in accommodating our schedule. All rooms have views to the outside. They made us a deal we couldn't refuse for the upper level . My husband and I could not have been more impressed. Fantastic downtown location. The hotel was obviously totally updated just in the last while. All appeared brand new. The staff were so accomodating and friendly. They allowed us to put our bags in our room when we arrived at 10 a.m., upgraded us to a better room to accomodate our request for a quiet room where we found crisp white cotton sheets on the bed plus they allowed us to park in the parking right away without charging us extra, thus s. The Blue Horizon is our favorite place to stay for our Sister's Weekend. It's perfectly located for shopping, just walk out the front door and you've arrived at the best shopping in Vancouver. It's also very close to Stanley Park, you could rent bikes and bike there. The hotel is very comfortable and clean,the staff are so friendly and willing to help, and the restaurant on the main floor was our favorite place to have breakfast before we started our day. This is our 'go-to' Hotel every tim. I liked the friendly reception when I checked in and was allowed to check in when I arrived at 12:30.Someone from housekeeping checked in with me and asked me if I was comfortable and needed anything.I Thought that was really nice.The room had a view,I was in a corner room on the 12th floor.The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean and immaculate.The bathroom was a bit dated,but it was clean and there was an abundance of towels.Coffee was also provided which was great.Being right on Rob. Location of the hotel was fantastic, beautiful street and close to a lot of attractions. We also had a great view of the city as we were on one of the higher floors. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was large. Our room was not located right in front of the lifts, but way around the corner, so it was also never noisy. I was also impressed with the WiFi, as it was easy to connect to and was actually fast. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. It made our s. 1-Location. Hotel was near everything beautiful that Vancouver had to offer. 2-Spacious room. I was pleasantly surprised to see how spacious the room was despite having 2 queen beds 3-Most helpful staff. Everyone had a smile for guests. I particularly liked Matthew, who always asked guests if they needed help in any way as soon as he sees us in the lobby. 4-Clean. Beddings were an immaculate white, bathroom was kept clean. 5-Easy access. Hop on hop off bus stops right at front door. The staff were amazing - tey were always ready to answer any questions - even the trainee was confident and resourceful Got an upgrade in our room for no reason that we could see and that was fantastic. The views from our room wereawesome - because we stayed a few times - returning after some week long excursions - we got different views each time and we got the full view and it was great. The location was close to shopping and some very nice dining venues - including hotdogs stands:). I don't know what the lower rooms were like, but we were on the 26th floor, an unbelievable view of the harbor and the city. What a great value and the hotel employees were fantastic. Never heard of this place before, but would definitely recommend it. We paid the little bit extra for the room and got the bigger size and high up........awesome. A super value price too. Very, very happy here. Location was A+ too. All the shopping was out the front door on Robson St. We got upgraded without asking to a corner room on one of the top floors with a private balcony. The view of the city was so amazing we could have just stayed at the hotel and had a good time! The onsite restaurant had some of the best food we ate in Vancouver, and you can eat at an outdoor table and watch a multinational parade of people on Robson Street. The location is wonderful. The amenities were great: fitness center with sauna, lap pool and jacuzzi. Everything. It was a perfect location for the city attractions, perfect for transport pickups, meals, walking to practically anything you wanted to see on a short stay, the Bell Boy was most efficient we've ever seen (cheerie, welcoming, entertaining, obviously loves his job-sorry I don't know his name. Young and always smiling). Breakfast was convenient and very satisfying. Would definitely come back and especially on the 30th floor. Spacious rooms with a view on the top floors. Very efficient and friendly service and beautiful new lobby and breakfast room, wine bar, etc. modern . Wonderful convenient location for cruise terminal, walking to Chinatown and Gastown, even Stanley Park. This is on Robson Street which is a great place for shopping. Restaurants nearby. Mountains, water, boats, seaplanes-Vancouver is beautiful. This was our second stay at this hotel. Best is Robson St location; it's convenient to everything we had time to see. Vancouver is wonderful destination and we hope to return for a longer stay at some point. Blu Horizon is a supremely fine place to stay. We were in a 29th flr suite with breathtaking views and would have loved to stay a week, at least! It's a lovely place to stay and Vancouver is a lovely place to visit. The adjacent restaurant was very fine as well. I've stayed at the Blue Horizon many times before and was very pleased by the added value provided. The updates and remodel were well done and welcome improvements. The expanded restaurant hours and friendly staff made our stay that much more convenient and enjoyable. I also utilized the pool for the first time and found it clean and well maintained. I will stay at the Horizon again and recommend it to others. Tthe staff ar this hotel were really friendly & helpful. Our room here was large and comfortable. There was a fridge in the room which came in handy for drinks etc & the balcony was a welcome addition to get some fresh air. All in all a great hotel in a great location for excellent value. We would definitely stay here again. ...& there is an excellent 24hr bakery/coffee shop across the street!. I was travelling alone with a 3 yr old which was a challenge. The Staff were fantastic really friendly and helpful. Beautiful view from our superior room on the 28th floor of the bay and mountains. Room was really spacious, 2 really comfy beds to sink into. Used the pool and hot tub which were great. Ate in the restaurant for dinner lovely food and great wine. Overall a fantastic time. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and spacious. I stayed on the 2nd floor which concerned me at first, being that there is a fairly busy street in front, but it was very quiet. The windows are very well insulated. The design is such that all rooms are corner rooms with large windows on 2 sides. Hotel location and price were very good. I would stay here again and recommend it. the room was great. I loved all the windows and room size. The bathroom had a variety of colours but it clean and everything worked well. It was also nice and quiet. This was a very good hotel experience. The hotel has a nice feel about it. Most in Vancouver are either very business like or so expensive. If you renovate I hope you maintain the character. I've stayed at the Blue Horizon a couple of times and always enjoy my stay. The staff are attentive without being overly so. The view from my room was beautiful and my room was spacious and clean. When I visit Vancouver I always stay at the Blue Horizon. very spacious rooms, clean, comfortable, designer look, great view of city and English bay; great location for site seeing; easy access (right in front of hotel) to trams and buses; great restaurants within walking distance. On site restaurant was convenient and provided great breakfast & other terrific food, breakfast and other meal options. It was easy to find which also had great parking. Beautiful rooms and great location. More importantly the staff were exceptional, they were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 24th floor, so talk about a view!! Wow!! The mountains, the Bay, the ocean, and "all" of the high rises, condos, etc., It was lovely and quiet! The room was big, and comfy! Small bathroom, but still nice. The front desk Staff were great! &Quot;Jenny" was our Maid, and she was "awesome"! Did a good job in our room every day!. Superior Queen room was excellent and we were offered a chance to select which room we wanted, reception staff were extremely helpful. Hotel is well placed in Robson Street for all activities such as the Harbour area, Stanley Park, shops and access to Grouse Mountain. We traveled by public transport which was easy as everyone was very helpful. We liked our room ( 806 ). It had lots of space and a great view . The service was excellent. It was nice to come back to a tidy room and clean towels after a long day of sightseeing. The food in the restaurant was very good and all the staff in the hotel were very friendly. We would definitely stay here on our next trip to Vancouver. We enjoyed the hotel, the location and the staff. We would like you to know that the rooms which are booked through you at this hotel are the two rooms right in front of the three elevators, which means noise and the nice man in the reception up graded us to a nice quite room. The staff friendly, the area around has lots of shops and restaurants, much better then the "multi- starred" high priced hotels at the waterfront and only 10 minutes from there. The romm itself was HUGE - exactly as seen in the photos. Do not hesitate - take it. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They satisfied my request which I wrote as a comment on the Booking. The location is perfect for shopping and it is also very closed to Stanley Park. The facilities are a little out of fashion but they are all very clean. I lived on the 16th floor and it isn't noisy at all. I have stayed several weekends when I come to see my son who is a student at UBC. The personnel is very kind and always have been helpful and makes us feel well, we have been lucky and usually can get an upgrade to a higher floor with spectacular view. I like the location, ideal foe a weekend urban escapade. Great views. Good location for shopping and walking distance from the harbor and Stanley Park. Loved the room and the view (especially the view!!) We were on the 23rd floor - definitely worth the extra $. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night, but would come back again without hesitation. The price was very reasonable given what we received in return. The front desk staff was exceptionally nice and efficient, both during check-in and check-out. Reception staff were friendly and efficient and an enthusiastic Matthew was always ready to open a door or get a lift; 2. Room was spacious, comfortable and well serviced; 3. Location is great - near transport, shops, restaurants, Stanley Park and the city centre. I observed a small stain on the top sheet at the foot of bed, on entering our room. I spoke to housekeeping and the beds were completely remade while we were out shopping. The Manager gave us breakfast credit in their restaurant, which we thought was very generous. When we arrive, late in the morning not only our room was already available (before check in time), but also we received a complimentary upgrade to a king size room at the 28th floor. Very good acoustic isolation between rooms. I booked on line and thought that price that was as stated on-line was going to savw me so, I decided to be the rich which I'm not and stayed two nights. After checking out I got taxed in every direction, I didn't know which way was up. So caution that's all.... Our trip to Vancouver was a really great trip and having a room at BLUE HORIZON was perfect, it was close to all kinds of shopping, rooms were a really great size and the view from our floor was awesome, I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to vancouver. Very comfortable beds. Our room was very spacious and lovely. I loved that we could turn the air conditioning off and also loved having the sliding door opened partially during the night. Restaurant on the main floor is friendly and decent. Loved the egg and avocado breakfast sandwich! Like the aquatic theme of the tiles on the outside of the building. :-). Loved the 2-corner winddows and the terrace overlooking downtown. Housekeeping knocked on the door within 20 mins of checkin to ask if we needed anything. We all agree Blue Horizon is our go-to spot in Vancouver. We had a Superior corner room and the extra cost was worth it. The views were fabulous. The room was spacious and well laid out. Large white towels and dressing gowns .Coffee peculator and a kettle to make tea. I thought the young doorman who helped us with our luggage was superfriendly , knowledgable and very polite! The hotel is fanatastic situated in the middle of the shopping road Robson street and the service, breakfast diner etc. was perfect. We had a nice stay in the Blue Horizon. Staff helpful and business-like - seemed a bit reserved, would have liked a little more friendliness/smiles - not necessary but goes a long way. All staff very efficient. heater is not so warm, even I adjust the temperature to 26℃, but the highest temperature at room is 22℃。. I really like a telephone shower which we did not have but there was nothing we did not like. I was awakened at 1:00 A.M.by noisy guests returning from a night out on the town.I Could hear them through the walls,but fortunately they didn't continue the noise at great length.That was the only downside. Nothing. Couldn't fault it. We did have a problem with our credit cad being accessed by someone in Spain when we used it with a tour company which has a vendor outside the front door - so be wary. Nothing. I pretty much loved everything about the Blue Horizon. Meals were a little slow in the dining room particularly with a tight schedule. Not a big issue though. There is absolutely nothing not to like!. I have no negative comments to share. There is nothing not to like... There was no pool but we knew this when we booked, was reflected in the excellent price and the location was good compensation!. Nothing. The bathrooms are a bit small - but not really all that bad. They are adequate - and clean. All the good things about the room and hotel overshadow this "small" issue. the pool. The breakfast next door and there wasn't much open close by on Monday morning. Look forward to coming back when the restaurant opens. Nothing. you need to hurry up and finish your entry - i'm sure its a put off for some, but it didn't bother us. Also, we changed rooms because the previous visitors must've been smoking a lot on the balcony or possibly in the room as the minute I walked in I smelled the smoke. the desk was prompt in getting us another room and although it was on a lower floor (24 to 16) it had a much nicer view of the bay and city - thanks!!. N/A. Sadly, the hotel was under construction while we were there. So - a bit messy, I guess, but not intolerable for us. I am sure it is going to be absolutely wonderful and lovely when it is done. We were a bit disappointed that some facilities at the hotel - the restaurant and bar were not available at the time due to incomplete renovations that ran over expected date of completion. The coffee at the restaurant was too strong and had a bitter taste. But this is a minor dislike. Nothing. So far its been great, I have not had an experience during Summer and high season occupation. That will be the test. Nothing. Disappointed in the fitness room. My teens/husband were looking forward to a good workout, but didn't find much equipment or weights. I had a twin-queen room, and both beds were extremely firm. I prefer a medium to firm mattress, but these were simply too firm. A quick peek at the mattresses confirmed them as being fairly new. Perhaps they got an exceptional deal on them as part of their remodeling project. Restaurant was a little lacking in menu and was a little pricey. Nothing. The bathroom could have been more spacious, considering the size of the room. I didn't save money that's all... Pool is small and the elevators small and busy. Bathroom was a touch small, but clean. This isn't a big deal though: the bathroom isn't exactly a place to hang out anyway. Only problem was that the thermostat was set way too high and we woke up very sweaty, just check the thermostat and adjust accordingly. Well, the parking attendant was pretty rude. We had no complaints. It is the hotel we'll choose for further stays. Not much we didn't like - were on a lower floor so the view wasn't as good as higher up, but we still loved the hotel. On the 20th floor but not a great view of the harbour, could only just see a little bit of water between the towers. The manager who i talked to was not really friendly, in fact he was slightly annoyed with me, it did not feel good to be treated in some kind of arrogant fashion!!. nothing.
