Excellent location to old city. We have stayed here before and was our 1st choice for this trip. This is not a modern hotel but is absolutely charming as soon as you enter. it is an amazing hotel, full of character, close to the centre and very very old. The helpfulness of the staff was excellent. The location was perfect. a very 16th sentury stylish hotel, very comfortable, great staff!.

The hotel was a beautiful building and centrally located to the sites and a large underground car park. The staff were really helpful and offered us a street map without having to ask, breakfast choice was extensive and again lovely. Our room had wooden beams and was huge. Certainly would revisit Gent again and definately stay here again. The location is fantastic just a few blocks from the historic center. My room was large, breakfast was very good, and the staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is a restored historic building and the decor and architecture are very nice, especially the breakfast room which looks out on a beautifully landscaped courtyard. A lovely old fashioned hotel - rare these days. The opposite of Ibis orHoliday Inn. The entourage. Very authentic and in the same sfeer as the town of gent. The hotel is very old and has a lot of character. It is right next to Koremart, a very beautiful section of Gent. It is converted from an old residential building. No secure parking. The hotel does not have a lift and that could be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. No lift. Our room had a few problems. Fridge did not work, and the toilet was leaking. No discount was offered. The staff was very accomodating. room renovation is needed. The breakfast might offer better choices - however, it was not bad. I thought the cost was rather high.Parking is not available at the hotel but a public car park is available 5 minutes away. There is no 24 hour staff. After hours, you might get locked out of the hotel, if you didn't bring your own keys.We stayed in a room underneath a family room...We could hear all the noise from the room above! In our case, the ppl above us came back around 2AM. We woke up because of the noise they make from walking around, and couldn't sleep till they went to bed. The reception is closed during night (10pm-7am or so) so that we just had to be patient.... Closed door policy (one has to use the doorbell to enter the building), rather run down furniture and fake antiques. Bathroom is usable but not very practical for people who prefer a shower over a a bathtub. The hotel is not the pearl of ancient Gent, that is communicated by the the folders and the website. Perhaps it was foolish to expect miracles with the rather modest roomrates we payed. .

By car : Enter Ghent by highway E40 or E17 and follow the parkingroute to the St Michaels Church. There you can park your car. The hotel is just around the corner.
By train : St Pieters Station, there you can get a taxi or tram 1 to the Korenmarkt, cross the bridge and second street to the right. The hotel will be at your left handsite.
