all reviews » I stay in Meriton Campbell street with my family (incl. my son 4 y.o). This apartement is easy to be founded, just tell to the cab driver (about 20 min from Syd airport). Very close to paddy's market. you can shop for grocery at the haymarket and also thai supermarket around apartement. Starbucks is just across of the apartement. you can also try to eat in Mamak Rest (about 10 min from apartment) and Chat Thai Rest. The closet metro train are Town Hall & Central station, you can also take l. This hotel is a fantastic find! At under $200 per night, it really can't be beat. I stayed there twice this month, once for 5 nights and again for 3. The staff is bright, helpful and very professional; the king bed was one of the most comfortable I've encountered; the bathroom was excellent, with a great large shower; there's a large flatscreen TV (and a 2nd one in the bedroom if you book a suite) and even a washer & dryer in the room and a kitchen if you want to cook. The Cube room on . We thought that the hotel was excellent, both for location & cost. Having the free use of a washing machine & tumble dryer in our room was very welcome after spending the previous week travelling in a camper van. The staff couldn't do enough for us & the apartment was within easy walking distance of Darling Harbour. We didn't use the oven but it was also great to have a large fridge / feeezer in the room plus all of the kitchen utensils you could need. The bed was very comfy & . We loved the space, the quiet, the modernity, we loved being able to wash and dry our laundry, use a big fridge. The bed was very comfortable, it was great having a table. We liked the fact that like a hotel room it was serviced every day, the provision of towels was generous. It was much better than a hotel room, much roomier, for an equivalent (if not better!) price. Location was perfect to all things to do and see in Sydney. Located in Haymarket area, in Chinatown, there is a fabulous Thai restaurant nearby called Chat Thai -- highly recommend it. My mother-in-law has come from Hong Kong & stayed at the Campbell St property for several weeks at a time with no problems, & on occasion we book this hotel for overnight stays in the city. As a native Sydney-sider, I can say that this hotel is good for its location close to Chinatown, with its excellent restaurants and shops. It is also near the light rail to Darling Harbour, & a short walk. The room absolutely exceeded our expectations. My partner and I had travelled to Sydney form Melbourne to spend a night before departing on a cruise the next day. Although we didn't particularly enjoy Sydney, the room was fantastic. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and it was clean, had all the mod cons and the room service was delivered promptly. We had unfortunately booked a very early flight so we did have to wait around a while to check in but the staff were lovely and very helpul and d. This hotel is extremely well located, at a very close distance you can find all kind of shops and restaurants. The central train station is located within 5 minutes walking. The Starbucks in located just in front of the hotel, which is also pretty cool for those who like it. The hotel cleanliness was definitely something that needs to be pin-pointed. An excellent location in Central Sydney on the edge of Chinatown with lots of shops and food outlets to cater for all tastes in the immediate area. We had a studio apartment. The standard of fixtures and fittings was high (AEG dishwasher for example), it was roomy and quiet. The apartments are also situated close to the major bus routes, Central station and the tram system. Cheaper than apartments near Circular Quays and it also have a nice pool and a small gym. The facility was neat and clean. I liked having a "kitchen" area and yet the feel of a living room. Having a "kitchen" allowed us to buy food and have breakfast in the room....hence saving money. The staff was helpful and polite. We enjoyed the lap swimming pool and work out area that is right next to our room. The location was also good being close to the train station, shops and a grocery. We found that we could walk all over Sydney which was fun for us. 1) The reception allowed us to check in earlier which was a wow factor as we can put our luggage, do some wash ups and start to enjoy the city earlier. 2) They also provide shuttle services to the airport that costs about the same/cheaper than taking the train. It saved us a lot of troubles as well. 3) The location is great, located in the heart of the central area. Next to chinatown, World Tower, Central Station and Tram station. Very convenience. Great location, just north of Sydney's Chinatown, convenient to shopping district, Darling Harbour, and the free shuttle bus to major tourist sites like the Opera House. The value for money is excellent. With laundry and kitchenette and all facilities needed this is an excellent choice for anyone that is happy with making their own breakfast and/or lunch/dinner. There are more Meriton Serviced Apartments throughout the city. This one is the closest to the central station, walking distance appr 10-15 min. Walking distance to Sydney Opera house appr 30-40 min, Darling Harbour appr 10-15 min. Everything at Meriton was really good, I really have nothing to stay, The staff is really friendly. There is really cute girl at the reception, who has a beautiful smile, The room was really clean, House keeping facilities was excellent, I have stayed at so many places in sydney, I would rate meriton as the best place to stay in sydney city if your'e on a holiday. Self contained apartments have everything including washing machine and dryer. They also provided us with a trendy cot for our infant. It had all the small things like an iphone charger on top of the stereo. Its about 15-20 mins walk via the main shopping st to the opera house. Only 5 mins to darling harbour. We were in one of the studie apartments and it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Indeed, my wife said we have never stayed in a place so good. It was clean, comfortable, large, had a washer/dryer for use (important after several days of travel) and all the amenities. We were extremely pleased. None !. just for safety box in our room can't be operated properly. we try to folllow the instruction, but unfortunately it was still failed. The wireless internet service has a MB limit and if you go over, you need to buy one of their high-speed packages at $25 per day. It would be great to have it all included, but considering the huge value of this hotel, it's a minor quibble. There wasn't anything we didn't like. I could not fault the room. It was fantastic. The hotel has 39 floors, unfortunately I stayed in the 14th which has absolutely no view. Try to ask for an apartment in the higher floors. Nothing, the apartments ticked al the right boxes. No complaints. We were very satisfied with this booking. The bathroom was huge, but there was only a shower head and curtain, no tub. Felt a little odd--but everything was modern and spotless. Absolutely nothing!. The staff could be more service minded and be more friendly overall. Not even greeting when passing by in the reception area and upon questions a rather short answer tone. I stayed for 12 nights and in the end I also stopped trying to say hello unfortunately. Hard to find faults but I guess the only issue would be no grill/oven know the apartments just microwave and hot plates but this was a minor issue. A bit hard to find at first. Surrounded by backpackers, but the place itself is great. We truly loved every aspect of our hotel and we'll return the next time we're in Sydney. Absolutely nothing. Bumping into people, The free bus for visitors is too full to take you. The only thing I didn't like was that the door did not have a peephole. Very minor considering all of the great features. Can't think of a thing!. The hotel is in the centre of a chinese/Thai area, with deliveries constant to the butchers/supermarkets. The surounding area is also very back packer, which again makes it down market, and is the only thing I can fault on this property. Nothing. nothing that i can think of. What I didn't like was the shower floor, most of the water leaks out from the shower area. That was quite scary because customers might slip. I had to put so much towels on the bathroom floor for the leaking water and that was not too environmentally friendly. Shampoos, shower gels ect could be a bit better quality. Also, i didn't understand why there were soap in the jacuzzi pool, it makes all the dead skin floating at the corners 10 times more visible. No cups and saucers. Big heavy mugs. Strange for such an upmarket apartment that provided a teapot!!. Some things on high shelves I couldn't reach. Sitting room TV too big for space, had to move settee back. Nothing - it was just perfect. Can't ask for more. Pool cold and hot tub only warm. Iron and board a bit small and basic. No clothes rail to dry clothes. wet room style shower tended to flood the bathroom floor a bit if nozzle angled up. Leaving the room for the day would cut power to all appliances, ie dishwasher, washing machine etc. Could not fault anything. None. Nothing. It was a bit expensive. Can not think of a negative. I dislike the location of the heating/air condition right on top of my bed. When it is switched on, it blows right to my face which is annoying.. even when you shift the vent, the fact that it is right on top of your head doesn't help much. That I couldn't live there.. lol. Nothing bad to say at all. A bath would have been perfect plus I think the 20 dollar service charge for a misplaced key card was a bit much! Also the shuttle bus to the airport is 16 dollars each At the meriton! across the road at another hotel it was 14 so we used them instead!. You would be hard pressed to find something not to like here. Oh the parking across the road. It wasn't part of the hotel but they charged 120$ for 2 days. The hotel did offer cheaper cheaper parking in their sister building ... should have taken it. It was all good.
