We booked for 1 night only and had two adjoining rooms which was handy as we travelled with 2 couples and 2 small children. Really nice for one night, excellent Gold Coast views. We ate dinner in the restaurant bar on ground level more for convenience with the children, it was a little pricey but that's to be expected if you eatin the hotel and the food was good. Overall it was a good stay.
all reviews » Large rooms and bath rooms some guests obviously mistreat the rooms. Good buffet breakfast on ground floor however the revolving restaurant breakfast is not as good. The seafood buffet not as good as Watermark hotel and is more expensive. Would stay again however will not eat in the revolving restaurant ground floor restaurant restaurant much better. The staff were very friendly & helpful,the beds/linen,pillows were lovely,so comfortable.The juicer at the breakfast buffet was a real treat, all the fruit and veggies were prepared,you just had to juice whatever combination you liked,so very appreciated by a healthy eater! I will recommend the Crown Plaza. The hotel is really beautiful, with clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. It's in a good location and the staff is friendly. It has a nice swimming pool and two good restaurants. The Four Winds 360 revolving restaurant has a wonderful view of Gold Coast and a nice buffet. I recommend the hotel, for sure!. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. On our check in we were given an upgrade to a beachside room that was very nice. For breakfast that included, we had to go to the top floor revolving restaurant that was very nice(main ground floor kitchen under repairs) and a nice treat. I got my room upgraded by a friendly receptionist which was a splendid surprise. Room was awesome compared to price I've paid. This hotel offers nice views from room and cool facilities for all age groups. Also a free parking garage is a bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful - when my fiancee slipped in the shower and cut her finger, the Duty Manager (?) responded quickly with a medical kit. Likewise, the buffet breakfast was great and the chef made the best omelette I've ever had. Our room was a terrific size, larger than most other Hotel rooms. The bathroom was huge and it was great to have a decent size window. Staff were helpful and caring. Food was good but a bit more variety in the breakfast bar would be great. Breakfast was good, although standard food selections. Accommodation was comfortable but rooms are in need of renovation and upgrading to be in line with international standards. Not an International 4 star standard hotel. It was close to the shopping mall with tansport very close by. All major attractions of the Gold Coast are near by also. They provided a very good buffet breakfast also at a reasonable price. Parking on site was free. Staff were awesome..... a pleasure to stay there.... and we will absolutely be back for another brake... the food was beautiful everything was fantastic and would suggest anybody choose the crown surface for a brake. It was great having two double beds in one room and a decent sized balcony. Staff were excellent and so was the view. I will stay there and reccomend it to others. The 360° restaurant was excellent. The whole stay was fantastic. The staff were attentive and the surrounds were well kept and luxurious. I highly recommend the crown plaza to my friends and we will be back for a return visit. I really enjoyed my stay here. I booked a high level room with ocean view. The view was fantastic and the room is really spacious compared to lots of good hotel I stayed in. Then breakfast buffet was excellent awesome loved the array of food great for fussy eater the revolving restaurant was of equal quality great really great awesome loved it. Nothing to do with the hotel (it's a great hotel with great facilities) but we were there last Sunday night during the high winds and rain caused by Cyclone Ozwald - probably the worst weather I've experienced. Being a short person I was afraid to try and get into the bath. Perhaps a step around the bottom to assist getting into and out of would be beneficial. The fact that there wasnt a sauna. Everything was excellent except we found the pool disappointing. Too shallow for adults to enjoy at an extremely shallow depth I believe was 1.1metres. The only downside to our stay was the ordered breakfast. The food was late, cold and uneatable. The staff member delivering the food said we must have been asleep as she had been knocking for a while, which was untrue. We had been up for hours and waiting for it to be delivered. However we were not charged for this meal which was thoughtful and appreciated. Nothing. First avenue tavern, very unpleasant staff, they were unprofessional and rude. The salad was mouldy but the club sandwich we ate before the salad was amazing. I went back to the resort to ask if it was owned by Crowne Plaza as it was like walking into a low class local pub. When we booked we requested a higher floor, when we arrived we were told we would be on the 2nd floor.- Upgraded to the 22nd floor in the end very pleasant indeed. Nothing really. The only letdown and it is minor was some mould in what would be difficult to clean recesses of the shower. Nothing really. Would have liked a "please make up my room" sign, as we were a bit pushed for time on the day of the wedding. Not the hotel's fault as we did not specify we might be using a wheelchair, but the breakfast restaurant did not have wheelchair access to the buffet area. Tavern similar but staff allowed us access through back area and we thank them for that. Having to leave :-). Bland interior décor. Poor bar/café facilities, not the sort of bar you would want to spend time and relax in. Heavy traffic noise in rooms over busy main road. Stressed unfriendly, un personal staff in eating areas. The hotel was right between Surfer's Paradise and Broadbeach which made it hard for travel without a car. The room decor was a little dated. Not being able to plug in the PS3 to the tv was a big disappointment for my son. pillows. none. Restaurant closed at 2100. Shower was awful. Pool closed far too early. Walls were a bit thin, could hear people in the next room yelling and laughing quite late at night. Unfortunately, we found 5 small cockroaches in the room. I honestly can't think of anything. Shower door was mouldy and leaked due to old laminate glass in it. And breakfast buffet was extremely overpriced. everthing was good.
