Avalon is well designed with great facilities and wonderful staff. The pool area is great for dining and entertaining alike. Rooms are super-comfortable and the staff can't do enough. We were on honeymoon and were so well looked after, with plenty of well wishing and bubbles on the house!. The friendly & helpful staff, which includes everyone from the front desk to the bell buttons and the mainteinance guy. The location, near nice organic restaurants & cafés. The quiet night, with no noise even with open windows. The kitchennette.
all reviews » Amazing pool area, restaurant, ambiance. Big room that was very comfortable. I ordered room service and it came sooner than I expected. It was great. Staff was amazing. Parking (valet only) and wifi are available but do cost extra. Very helpful & friendly staff, good location -walking distance to Rodeo Dr about 15 mins leisurely. Reasonable priced for area. Small but beautiful pool is centre piece of hotel especailly night time. Staff excellent. Very comfortable atmosphere. Great location. The valet parking is costly - make alternative arrangements if unhappy with the fee. This is an anti-ecological, anti- environment hotel. All the lamps are incandescent, there are no solar panel installations, the air conditioning is turned on even when I don't use it, the hotel makes no separation of trash. Then I didn't like that the bed had no sheet nor blanket, only the overbed, so I had to ask for an extra sheet and a blanket, which they supplied readily. The prices of the snacks and bottles of water are outrageous. And the toilet is small. The only negative thing is that after checking in, I was told my room was in a building across the street. It was on the 2nd floor with no elevator, so it was a trek to try to hang out in the main building. The itself was still great, but I paid a lot and was expecting to be somewhat close to the pool. Not much stay was good but couple minor details: No free Wifi Bar fridge only just cool (might be only my room) Lift is a little noisy. Lack of in-room safe. The shower spilling onto the floor (design issue) broken toilet roll handle - Although if I had called it would have been fixed, time constraint made it an oversight. Can be a bit noises as all rooms face the pool. Only complaint was with the keycards for the room doors. I spoke with one or two other guests and they seemed to have issues with their cards too. There shouldn't be a knack to it. But as small complaint really. The overall stay was very good. Old building, could hear other rooms plumbing. We were there in february and the wether was quite cold. The heating in the room is exclusively air conditioning and it has a hard time handling cooler whether. The Ipod dock was not working in Ipod mode (just radio). Have to pay for Internet and parking (after a 10 hotel trip where we never got charged for either) otherwise a lovely hotel. Some noise due to ac. vallet parking only. Private function - no access to restaurant pool area on final day. The price for each night to high...they only had one robe in the closet. They should have two..... Noise and music until late night Paying for the wi-fi, breakfast and parking!.
