in the perfect location, right next to the cathedral, train station, MEN arena, the big wheel and the shops! was perfect! the hotel had real character about it as its so old and the room was comfy and ideal for a one night stay! the staff were very friendly and went of there way to help! (getting a pizza delivery at 1 in the morning!). people, warm feel. The Ronseal factor ... did exactly what it said on the tin - cheap and cheerful, faultless location and perfect after a night out. It was in an excellent location, easy to find and handy for all the citycentre amenities.I enjoyed most things about my stay and how close i was to the M.E.N Arena. Position of hotel for shopping and M.E.N. arena. Central position for local amenities. Location was great, reasonably priced, clean. Good location, friendly staff. Location excellent. Excellent location. Good value for money. It was slap bang in the centre of Manchester. had to leave arter first night, heating was off, no hot water. good staff but the room was vile. we wouldve liked a hairdryer and iron/ironing board, as we were there for a night out, we had to go to a frieds hotel and use her facilities to finish gettin ready. steep stairs lol, it was no problem. The television was crap and the shower took an age to run warm enough to use, but at this end of the market, these are hardly complaints ... No lift, steep stairs. No hot water during stay. Rather old-fashioned for a city centre hotel - needs a refresh.Hot water only tepid (not hot enough for a bath) both at night and in morning. Rather poor room maintenance and cleanliness. Heating was not ok on the first two days. Rooms very old fashioned and building subsiding. I suppose its just not a commercial hotel - staff werent overly friendly I was quite disappointed that way! However value for money overrules!. the room was not clean at all, the word grubby comes to mind.
