friendly helpful staff , room was clean and comfy. It was very close to the city centre and there were buses almost every minute - taxi's were easy to get too. There was aslo a 24hr filling station/shop across the road, which was very handy.these are the good points of the hotel: 1- the location of the hotel 2- the size of the rooms. It was quite and not to far from centre. Easy access to the town center (Piccadilly) with bus, bathtub in thebathroom, reasonable price, hot water maker in the room. Good price but you get what you pay for. The staff were friendly and helpful. The convenience of its location. Welcoming and helpful staff. There was an electric water boiler in the room so we could drink as much tea as we wanted. It was close to the Platt Fields park and the center was on walking distance (55min).Good location - needed to be in area. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean. Location. location. Nothing as when I turned up they had been overbooked for the night and sent me over the road to their sister hotel which was in a poor state. the pool table. Hotel was scruffy and beared no relation to the hotel very slightly more expensive up the road. Only that it was close to my daughters student house.Nothing. I stayed at many good hotels for 30 pounds in the center of Glasgow and this one in manchester was the worst place I have ever stayed. It is a hell place and I don't recommend it under any circumstances. There's a club at front of hotel. I was in the back so the noise didn't bother me. car parking was very limited......... The staff were a bit un-professional, it didnt really bother me but some people might not like that.Bed was very lumpy!. It was a bit 'tired' and could do with a general upgrade of fixtures, fittings and general decor.these are the bad points: 1- the toilets (heating and hot water) 2- the toilets locks. The shower and tv. Not so clean (floor, bed and bathroom - some of the wall papers are runout) but still acceptable with the reasonable price of stay. Room and hotel smelt damp and room smelt of smoke. There was no heating in the toilet. A little run down. Bathroom a little old and mouldy in places. No locks on the inside of the door for added security. Most of the furniture looked really old, some of it was already broken, some of it looked like it would break down by simply touching it. Furthermore, the hotel suffered from a bad smell inside. Rooms need upgrading - carpets dirty, room stale smelling and no plugsin bathroom. The hotel was dirty, the bathroom poor. I suffer severely from arthritisand there was no lift. toilet door would not shut, tv did not receive any channels. we had a man working on the balcony outside our room when we arrived and he used our bathroom window to get back in and walked into our room without any pre warning at all . The person on reception should have warned us on arrival . It was very run down, old fashioned and didn't really have the facilities you would expect from a modern day hotel. could be doing with a lick of paint, some new carpets, furnature and bathrooms. Radiators were really really hot, water in bathroom could have really burnt you..... you get what you pay for.very basic, below average. too many to mention. the hotel was dirty, the staff did't even show me where the room was and when I got there I was's sure of the lighting system they have which they never mentioned to me (all the lights were powered from one panel by the bed). the room, the non existing shower head, the windows, not double glazed, the insulation, it was really cold in the room, the tv rubbish reception and no remote, the hot water has troubles, the permanent smell of smoke.....Dirty, very, very shabby, staff unhelpful. noisy extractor fan in bathroom you could not turn off, unable to control heating, radiator dangerous. could go on. I got locked in the bathroom as the lock on the door was faulty. Everything. It was so dirty (bubblegum on the wall), dirty karpet, horrible shower, very old bed I could feel the springs in my back. The window was so old that I could hear noise from the street all night long. Everything was just a nightmare!. Beds were very old and uncomfortable, ripped sheets, window sealed shut,tv broken and nothing was done when I complained. My sister's tv in herroom had a pat test sticker on it which said failed! Again nothing wasdone when this was pointed out!. poor decor/repairs, luke warm showers, poor tv signal,. not welcomed. no restaurant food available. no details given about breakfast. room extremely uncomfortable.
