Renovated in 2014, all rooms feature air conditioning. Some rooms have a balcony and offer views over the roofs of Lugano. The multi-lingual staff is happy to give you recommendations about what to see and do in Lugano. Express breakfast is available in the lobby. Lake Lugano can be reached within a 5-minute walk and many shops and restaurants can be found in the immediate surroundings of the Acquarello hotel as well.

Staff was very friendly. So easy to get to from the main train and bus station and located right in the middle of the city centre. Had a great time and met other visitors who liked the hotel and stay there during each visit to Lugano. The hotel made our trip even more enjoyable!. Noisy people in the adjoining room arriving at 1am.The room was a bit airless and small. No airconditioning made the stay very uncomfortable. Located next to the funiculare so noisy room from 7am-11pm. not enough pillows on the bed!. The room was very hot, the window looked out onto a concrete wall, and - even at the opposite end of the hotel from the funicular (which weirdly runs through it) - the rumbling noise could be heard quite clearly late into the night.Very noisy location in summer. Sleeping with open windows requires ear plugs. Sleeping with closed windows is hardly possible in summer. The portable A/C unit makes too much noise to be used. Air con not working. The funicular literary going through the building, can be noisy; you can hear all the neibours around you; no heardriyer in the room; no minibar/tea facilities. small room; small breakfast area;. attention a la reception on veut te faire payer un lit d'enfant meme si l'enfant a 5 ans! la carte utilisée pour la reservation a été debloquée tres tardivement!. Funicular runs past the window until midnight but starts again at 5.20am. Coach parties stay there and are noisy in the corridors as they leave early.Extremely noisy. Very basic facilities. One staff at the reception was unfriendly and unhelpful. We did not find it cheap considering the discomfort we were in at the hotel.
