We were 4 seniors on a fly-drive junket and very pleased with our unit. Clean and tidy, well maintained, kitchen adequate for our needs, clean towels and crisp bed linen and the surrounding grounds testament to a well kept hotel. Views from the balcony were awesome and having access to a balcony restorative. Certainly worth its star-rating. Easy walk/drive to and from the CBD and various attractions - good location. Queenstown really is the adventure capital of NZ.
all reviews » Everything, it was our best hotel in New Zealand. The apartment was huge, clean and extremely comfortable. We were a family with 2 children under 3 and grandparents too and we could all have our space. The apartment had 2 floors, 2 panoramic balconies looking at the lake, 3 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and 2 upstairs rooms. Easy access from the garage to the room through an elevator. I would highly recommend it!. Love d location & great view from the 2 bedroom apartment. Big living room & dining area with 2 bathrooms for easier usage for 4 pax!! D only apartment dat provides dat for all d other apartments I hv booked :) we stayed for 2 nites & extended another 3 coz we love it!! Staff is nice & friendly too. Walking distance to city town n garden n lake too!!. The deal is just a value for money! Lake view apartment with two floors in side. The kitchen area can also see the lake view which makes the cooking just so pleasant. In other hotels, the price just can book a room without lake view but here everything just perfect. Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful setting. Complimentary bus that brings you down town and runs on the hour. Kevin (bus driver) was excellent and so helpful. I would highly recommend this accommodation to others and will be back to enjoy it again myself. We booked the 2 bedroom apartment that came with 2 floors - living and dining on one floor and the 2 bedrooms on the upper floor. Very spacious. We got a lake view apartment. Waking up every morning looking at the beautiful lake is a wonderful feeling. Easy access to town centre but not too close The staff in all disciplines were friendly and helpful. We were travelling with three adults and the third adult had a proper bed set up in the lounge room and was very comfortable. It was only a one night stay for my wife and i, after she flew in from Melbourne, the staff were very friendy, and the Hotel only a short walk to the local shops and entertainment areas, we will certain use the Copthorne again,. Although the hotel is located along Frankton Road where many hotels and motels are located, it is actually quite a long walk to the town centre. More convenient when you have a car to move around. The ground floor room that we occupied was too open to the general public walking by, ie wooden slatted fence. There's a wet patch & a cigarette butt on the balcony... For 3 nights stay... Uncleaned. Copthorne should have a habit of cleaning their balcony too. Limited selection for breakfast for those expecting more, basically it is the 'American' spread only. My family is fine with it tho. Exorbitant Charging for internet access. Virtally all the neighboring hotels had free access. Car Parking was a bit tight,but as it was off street and undercover it was a bonus. None. When we arrived our room wasn't ready yet and there wasn't one we could use to freshen up. The internet was expensive, so we didn't use it. There was no place to dry ski clothes. Our son was dissappointed they didn't have a tv in their room and that we couldn't play dvds or media off their phones. Bathroom shower a bit in need of updating in some areas. A little bit far out of the town. Disappointed that the spa wasn't outdoors to make the most of the amazing views!. Outdoor furniture in courtyard was in need of replacement or repair, not really safe to sit in as stitching of fabric had come apart in the back support. The outdoor furniture was also very dirty. Food menu at resturant could be broader. Nothing we didn't like!. Having to have the jug on the microwave to boil it, thought there should have been a hot-point closer to the jug. Nothing. Nothing. Climbing up and down the hill to get to town gets old very fast!. The steep hill on the walk back from town! The receptionists were not very friendly. One out door chair only on the terrace. Computers would not operate with fire fox (This was updated for us after w complained) In general the place is looking a bit tired and must be due for an upgrade. Needed better heating in room. Took a long time to heat room. Restaurant dinner menu and quality of food was disappointing compared to other dining options in Queenstown however we did order breakfast in our room and delivery was on-time and the quality was good. Nothing. Nothing to dislike about this location. There was nothing that I could fault.
