Lovely breakfast, helpful staff, nice room, everything was perfect :-). the breakfast was grand!. Very clean and quiet. Great location, courteous and helpfull staff, reasonable price. Our triple room had a terrace overlooking the garden, which made our stay very pleasurable. We had to check out before breakfast time and the staff accomodated us with a lovely early breakfast. Before our visit, staff promptly and politely answered our several questions via email. During stay they offered much helpful advice.Terrific location, great breakfast included, shared shower was easily accessible, appreciated clean towels daily and the entire facility was extremely clean. Above all the staff was quite friendly and helpful!. the friendly staff, the lovely dog, the value for money, the location. The location was great! and the reception area was nice. the room was originally for 2 adults - a friend then also came and they had no problem at all in putting an extra bed in the twin room originally booked - great service. room was still big even with the extra bed in it, so absolutley no complaints about this hotel.it was comfortable and central after my course. People were very friendly and helpful (staff). The location, cleanliness, staff, breakfast, warm feeling, etc.the possition of the hotel - in the center and the nice staff. For the price the hotel was a fantastic deal - we had a huge double room on the ground floor which was wonderfully clean. The breakfast was very much a dutch breakfast with bread, cheese and ham and coffee. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Of course the hotel is not luxurious, but it is an extremely good price and is in a fantastic location in the center of town.Friendly management, good basic facilities and very good breakfast. Kidsloved meeting Oliver the dog. Good advice on where to eat and travel.Excellent value for money given fantastic location right on canal andLeidseplain. Highlights
1. The lovely Staff
2. An excellent breakfast. I found the room very clean and the hotel was great for the price. Close transport and good breakfast, the staff were very helpfull. The hotel was comfortable, friendly and had lots of character. very central, and fairly quiet considering the location. Good sized room, beds comfy. great area of amsterdam. location, hotel staff. Location was great.situation was good. Location. You could tell that Kooyk is a budget hotel, but it was still clean, comfortable and warm, and the breakfast buffet was simple but effective and frequently refreshed. Location was brilliant, 2 mins walk from Leidseplein on a very quiet street. Reception was warm and friendly . The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast , while not what we were used to , was nice .Location was close to transportation and services .The staff was great. The bed was AMAZINGLY comfy. Nice beroom in general with access to the back garden. The breakfast was plain but good. Nice coffee. It's in a very clean and quiet area of the city, comfortable bed, pillow, blankets, etc.the location was perfect, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was ok. The location was great and people were genuine in their assistence. Its location, close to the centre. Clean, safe, welcoming staff. The location. The staf where nice and helpful. Exellent english speaking.reasonable price, beds are comfortable. Breakfast. proximity. location. Located very close to the Leidse Plein, practically everything you wantto see in Amsterdam is within walking distance. There is a breakfastbuffet, so you can have a decent breakfast before exploring the city.Breakfast finished at 10, though, so you can't have a real lie-in. Good sized family room. Friendly staff. Able to leave bags during day. Good breakfast. Central location. The location of the hotel was very convenient for our stay in Amsterdam. 2 entrance cards to room would be useful as they are used also as a house key. the hotel is totally grand for a budget hotel. clean, and comfortable, no bad points to tell about - unbelievably cheap compared to other hotels at that time of year - dec 27 - dec 31. defo would stay there again. a lot of reviews arent great about this hotel - but we had no problems at all during our stay and had a great time here - 392 euro for 3 people for 4 nights....you cannot get cheaper. i'd quite like porridge as a breakfast choice but it was good. no, anything. This is an authentic Dutch experience so need to be aware thatstaircases are steep and toilets are cramped. We found this ok but maybe difficult for older or bigger guests. Finish in rooms is basic. Stairs are too stiff. TV is not functioning well and faucet inside the room has no cold water, or it did not function well to give us cold water. The Shower
We stayed in a double with shared bathroom and the shared shower is just a room with the shower. What this means is the entire floor get wet and your clothes.
It is also very hard to get dress (with out getting your clothes wet) after your shower as the floor is wet.
I would recommend installing shower curtain and basin to create a changing area where your clothes don't get wet.the toilets were really really small!. Showers and toilets incredibly small.bathroom. The walls were a little 'thin', I could hear a lot of what was going on outside.Breakfast very minimal and not enough when the room was full. Room key card gave us some trouble but there appeared to be "a knack" for this. The toilet in the hall and shower were a little dingy as was the hallway. The room itself was nice though. They didn't clean our room after our first night there. the room was tiny and overlooking the other room´s window, wc and bathroom were in the corridor, the furniture was old...but all in all we got for what we had paid. No - you get what you pay for. Shared bathroom facilities (but we knew this in advance and is reflected in the excellent price). It was ok for its price. Rooms where clean, but very simple. have to cross several doors or climb the stairs to get to the toilet or the shower; no TV remote control; conditions of toilet and shower should be better. Beds. too many stairs to get to the room without an elevator. the dog!. Keep your windows closed at night (difficult when the sun has beenshining inside all day long during a hot summer), because rats and micewill come into your room. Speaking from experience, I had to chase awaymice that were nibbling on my lunch for the trip back, but the hotelstaff kindly offered me a different room, even at 3.30am. Apparently, mice are a common problem in Amsterdam.Entrance rather off putting, with a smell of smoke. Wires for lights in bedroom held together with tape, would have been a concern with small children. The front desk was often unstaffed, making it necessary to search for a staff member if any problems or questions arose.
