Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful! Checking in and out was a breeze, and the reception people were full of information. We stayed for one night and had no issues. The room was very clean and beautifully furnished, the bathroom was small but adequate and stocked as you would expect with shampoo etc. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel but the spread looked very good from what we saw in the morning! When we first got to the hotel the front desk was incredibly warm and friendly, and made it clear that if we had any question to ask. And that warmth and helpfulness continued with all the staff. The location worked out well for us and would and have already recommended this hotel. Anya (not sure of spelling) was very nice and really helpful. Seeing that we had huge luggages, she re-shuffled the room allocation such that we could have a larger room. The basement room we got was really spacious and allowed us to pack our luggage for our flight home. Convenient location to food and shopping options. In addition, the airport bus shuttle is just 5mins away from the hotel. Customer support was superb. Every little issue we had was promptly attended, no questions asked. Staff had a big smile and always helping. The canal view was very relaxing. The location was probably the best. Close proximity to museums, restaurants, cafes, and public transport. Great location by the canal and very close to the major museums. Easy tramrideinto the city centre with many local restaurants. Lovely room, great décor and very clean. Not a major issue, but we did call down to the '24 hour reception desk' around 1am to ask about bath towels. We got no answer but noticed a supply closet in the hallway stocked with towels and toilet paper etc so helped ourself, not sure if this was standard but not a big deal and quickly resolved. The only issue someone might have is the stairs and no elevator (which is very common in Amsterdam from what I heard), so if unable to navigator stairs due to mobility issues you would want to stay in lower floors. That being said, the lady at the front desk insisted on carrying our two 50 lbs bags to the third floor for us. When my partner offered a tip, she said "no, you're are at my house now". (Like I noted the staff is Amazing). The room was very small but not unexpected in Amsterdam. Amenities limited but Ensuite clean and more than adequate. A word of warning is to ask for fly spray as canal side hotels prone to Mosquitoes. Overall good value for money. There is no lift and the stairs are narrow and very steep, typical of classic Dutch Houses. Bathroom is also quite small. I found the €10 charge for their continental breakfast to be a little steep, especially considering it was just coffee, bread, lunch meats, cheeses and cereals. I stayed at a hostel in Amsterdam (StayOK) that offered the same breakfast for free. we didnt like the lamp that turning on while you move. we couldnt shut it down and it was annoying. the shower has too much room and water are spreading all over. The only room for improvement would be the mattresses in my room were not very comfortable. Would have been absolutely perfect with a newer one. Small double really is small, but as expected. Although the room we booked was described as a small double room it was very small and there was not much room for anything but a bed. More like a small single room. Larger double rooms had much more space. All good. The room we had was tiny but we knew it when we booked it. Please note that the stairs are quite steep, was not a problem for me but should be kept in mind. Shower as just part of the bathroom with no border so you flooded the bathroom when you took a shower. No complaints whatsoever. Nothing. Everything was really outstanding. Lack of an elevator, but that's to be expected in Amsterdam. Slightly noisy; however, that's to be expected in such an old authentic building. little noisy. room was quite small. none. The bathroom-shower is small. Basement room was a bit dark. cramped en-suite bathroom. On-street parking expensive. shower to close to toilet. Room a bit too small for two people (but we were warned that it was a small room). Our booking was for an Annex room, this is located further up the road Lower Ground room on corner, if we opened windows people could easily access the room.
