From the first moment we arrived the owner and his staff made us feel very welcome and we really felt at home immediately. The decoration and service in this Ryad is fantastic down to the very last little detail. We got shown a second alternative room which turned out to be a suite without asking or any extra cost. all reviews » Ryad Watier was an amazing B&B. Large, spacious and nicely-decorated rooms! Jean Gabriel, the owner, was so outgoing, friendly and accommodating. He was very helpful when my boyfriend had a fever. Additionally, the staff is very friendly and helpful and dinners are top- quality. Essaouira was our favorite city, although a bit more touristy than other Moroccan cities, the beach has great watersports and lots of activities and great restaurants. I arrived late one evening and was met at the bus and given the most delicious meal when I got to the Riad. Breakfast was on the roof top of the Riad and the view of the Atlantic is fabulous. I was given great advice about the best places to visit at Essaouria. My room was luxurious and quiet. I would definately go back. Jean was an excellent host and was extremely willing to assist with anything . Accommodation was excellent with large rooms and good breakfast.The location was very central with lots of great restaurants within walking distance. They were in the process of upgrading the wifi so it could be used through the Riad. Essaouira is a lovely coastal town. The Riad´s owner and manager Jean- Gabriel is a helpful and interesting man, who speaks English and French. The room was much larger than we usually had in Riads throughout Marocco. This raid did not live up to expectations after reading previous reviews. The bed was damp, the roof terrace for breakfast was very rundown, and not weatherproof. The courtyard was also disappointing. Generally the riad offered a low standard of finish and accommodation, as this is not priced for backpackers.
