Incredible! The couple that manages the Riad is amazing, they will treat you as you have never been greater before (the day we left the husband woke up at 5:30am to prepare us the breakfast because we had to leave at 7:00am). The rooms are spacious and the views on most of them are stunning! Highly recommended to have dinner at least one night in the Riad, is not the most economic (compared to street prices) but it is definitely worth it, the lady that cooks breakfast and dinner is lovely and t.
all reviews » The choice of the riad was important for us as we aimed at spending 7 days in Essaouira. Luckily, we could not choose better than the riad La Fontaine Bleue. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms with a view on the ocean are very nice and comfortable (e.g. the room called Zoulikha). The riad also offers very nice dinners. I offered help and they allowed me to help in the kitchen so that I could learn how to prepare a wonderful couscous royal and chat with the staff about life. During our stay in Marocco we stayed in 5 Riads and this was definitely our favourite. The hostess of the Riad 'Hafida', is the most friendly person we've met and she will take care of you and your stay! You will also have to enjoy her cooking at least once when you are there. However, also the other personnel is very interested and involved by the guests The Riad is very clean, with very comfortable rooms and a roof terras where you get your breakfast. We would recommend visiting Essouira a. We stayed at La Fontaine Bleue for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Riad is beautifully decorated, with a great terrace and our room had a sea view. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Both the restaurant and spa recommended were great and staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for exploring the narrow streets of the medina, eating fresh fish at the port and to get to the beach. Would certainly stay there again!. We had a lovely stay at La Fontaine Bleue. The decor is French chic and the riad is in a great location - right by the sea wall with fantastic coastal views from the roof terrace. The room was bright and airy with clean white linens and a separate bathroom. The owners and most of the other guests speak French. However as English-only speakers, this only added to our experience! We could understand each other enough to get by and we had a lovely 2 days at the riad. La Fontaine Bleue was a great place to stay. The room my daughter and I had overlooked the sea and was very clean, stylish and comfortable. Breakfast on the roof terrace also overlooking the sea was a beautiful start to the morning. We are not French speaking but that wasn't a problem, Hafida and the staff were most helpful and friendly and I would have loved to have an evening meal there with Hafida cooking but we just ran out of time. The welcome we received from all the staff was excellent. Nothing was to much trouble, they were all patient with our lack of understanding of the language! The RHiad is beautiful, it's so tastefully decorated with furniture to die for. The situation is wonderful, though a bit windy at times for being so close to the sea. We loved every bit of our stay and would recommend this to everyone, it's an absolute gem. The staff at La Fontaine Bleue were very friendly and more than accomodating. Our room was cleaned every day and breakfast was served at whatever time we wanted. This for us was great, as we're not exactly early risers, and prefer not have to rush to get up for a set breakfast time. I would definitely recommend having the set 3 course meal at the Riad also - delicious home cooked Moroccan food!!. Hafida and her lovely team were so welcoming, they really made us feel at home. After a long bus journey from Agadir they insisted we rest on the beautiful roof terrace while they brought us mint tea and homemade macaroons (delicious)! The rooms were spotless and the breakfast was delicious. I can definately recommend this riad for anyone wishing to spend time in essaouria. The staff was very friendly, they helped us with tips on where to eat and made sure we were very comfortable at their riad. The riad is very clean and nice, they have remodelled it so that everywhere you look you see a piece of art in wood or pottery. They made us feel at home, we hardly recommend staying at La fountain bleue, you'll love it just as we did. Beautiful Riad-style hotel with a bit of a modern touch. Great people, everyone was just lovely. They arranged for whatever we wanted and served us a wonderful dinner one night. Room beautifully designed and equipped; Riad overall lovely and great location 2-3 mins walk from the main street and 5 mins from port and main square. Everything, this was just a perfect place to stay. We had dinner at the riyad every night and it was delicious and very cheap, we had the best moroccoan food there. The staff was really nice and sweet. They fight off nuisance from wind and salt water keeping the riad very clean and and so was the linen. A little hard to find so once you have remember which shops are on the turn off to the hotel! you get the usual morning chorus at sun up from the mosques but accommodation great and town interesting. Note that credit cards may be subject to maximum daily withdrawal!. Nothing!. Loved everything, no negative points at all. The only fault that we had was the fact that the Wifi was downstairs only in the communal areas, and not in the rooms. Between the front of the Riad and the sea is a collapsed old building which does have some rubbish accumulating in it. This slightly spoiled the view if you looked down rather than straight out to sea but this was Morocco not the UK and because the Riad and staff overall were fantastic, this didn't bother us too much and otherwise the view from our room and the terrace on top were great. We had a wonderful stay here. The sea view from our room was disturbed by the drunks sat in a derelict piece of wasteland in between our bedroom window (about 10 yards away) and the sea view. They didn't stick around all night so at least they didn't keep us awake. Missing better working Wi-Fi!! ;-). nothing!. Communication may be a slight issue for those who do not speak French. We asked about the location of an atm and were given directions to take a taxi to the bus station (apparently where we could ctm). Thank goodness we found several ATMs near the entrances to the medina before following her advice! Also, WiFi is only available in the lobby on the ground floor and is a rather weak signal. June is the windy season in Essaouira. We did not know that until we arrived. It was colder than we expected and we could not sit on the rooftop terrace because of the wind. Weather-wise, September is the best month to visit Essaouira. The french lady owner of the place did not even say a word to us when we met because we do not speak french. Wi-fi was only available on the ground floor and not inside the rooms located in the floors. The location is a bit outside the mean streets of the medina and not directly on the waterfront but with good view to the sea from terrace and rooms due to destructed building in front. The advertising on Booking is grossly inaccurate. Our room (the best one in the hotel) was much maller tan the advertised 20 sqm. There was no direct view on the sea, but a view on the common rooftop terrace from where one could see the sea. I was billed for the welcome tea. Toiletry reduces, as often in Morocco, to a bar of soap. Not very nice!. Nothing. Everything was perfect. El desayuno podria tener yogurt eso mejoraria el resto todo fantastico. Wasps crazy by honey. Nothing. Smell of sewage from the bathroom in the morning.
