Set in a prestigious 18th century building 3 minutes’ walk from St. Mark’s Square, this luxury hotel boasts panoramic views of the Grand Canal. Its lavish Venetian rooms include a large marble bathroom. All rooms at Bauer Il Palazzo feature rich fabrics, gilt mirrors and Murano glass chandeliers. Each room is equipped with a satellite TV. The De Pisis restaurant offers a gourmet menu every evening, and guests can enjoy a cocktail or traditional spritz at the B Bar in the winter, or on the Bar Canale terrace in the summer. Staff can arrange a candlelit dinner on the canal or tango lessons on the terrace, upon request. From Marco Polo Airport water taxis are available at all times at the dock located a 5-minute walk from the terminal. A public water-bus service Alilaguna, blue line is available from the airport dock located a 5-minute walk from the terminal. The nearest stop is San Marco "Giardinetti" located just a few minutes away from the Hotel.

All that really matters is excellent: location, pleasant and competent staff, facilities, cleanliness. Breakfast was very good, but it`s main selling point is the terrace in which it is served - on top of the rooftop above the Grand Cannal with the most magnificent view. Hope to come again. One of the best hotels i ever stayed in. Very polite and highly respectful staff. The hotel fully understood when I asked them to change my room and give a room with no pictures on walls so that i can perform my prayers. The breakfast and location are excellent.

We loved the city and the Bauer gave us the perfect vantage point to begin our day. We loved the rooftop terrace. The location was exceptional for Venice, our suite was comfortable, room was quiet, clean etc. The hotel was fabulous. Perfect location with superb staff who realy looked after us. Bed linens were so uncomfortably stiff and overly starched that we bought and used our own linens. Hotel Restaurant is over priced and dinner portions are too small. A little too pricey to be considered to be a great value. Where wasn't a kettle in the room to make a coffee or cup of tea. Also the bed was to hard and give us back ache. the bed. The bar was incredibly expensive. I know the hotel is also expensive, but 10€ for a bottle of beer, and 8€ for a draught coke which costs abduring he middle of the day made me not go back again. Room furnishings,difficulty negotiating, needed 3 elevators to reach our room. Very poor directions to facilities offered. The place lacks and real substance of quality. The wifi is hopelessly slow and not suitable for business. Room service was just not Italian cooking but frozen microwaved junk food just never try a pizza.

Travelling information

From Piazzale Roma (where you can find car parks and garages):
- Take vaporetto (Venice's public water bus) number 1 or 2 to the San Marco/Vallaresso station. This is an approximate 40-minute boat ride on line 1, and a 25-minute ride on line 2. From St. Mark’s Square go down Calle Vallaresso until you reach the end, then turn left on Campo San Moisè. This is a 5-minute walk.

From Santa Lucia Railway Station:
- Water taxis are available in front of the railway station and will bring you to the hotel’s private dock. This is a 15-minute ride.
- Take vaporetto line 1 or 2 to San Marco Vallaresso and follow the above directions.

From Venice Marco Polo Airport:
- Take a water taxi directly to the hotel dock. This is a 40-minute ride.
- From the airport water dock you can take the Alilaguna boat to San Marco. It will take you approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the hotel.
