The room was suprisingly large, clean and bright, and it was equipped with lcd TV, powerful hairdyer and tea or coffee making facilities. For those who love tea, it should be added that tea was of really good quality, and it definitely added extra smile on our face! The receptionist we met on our first day was the best ever, and after hearing we were not so great with the directions, she even drew the bus routes onto our map, making the navigation easier. I bet everyone else have already praise.
all reviews » The Waterloo Lodge was ideal for my stay as it was 10 minutes walk to rds and to Marion Square (start location of the Dublin city Marathon). I traveled with my wife and our two kids (3 & 5 years old) and the family room we had was ideal, plenty of space. Staff were very accommodating and breakfast was excellent. All in all, we had a pleasant 3 nights stay in the Waterloo lodge. The warm welcome upon our arrival, the comfortable beds, delicious breakfast, very pleasant and professional staff, great location for either walking or taking the bus into the city center. Highly recommended -- so happy we stayed at the Waterloo Lodge, would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for EVERYTHING!!!!. The location is ideal for a concert goer to Lansdowne Road (Aviva), plenty of great pubs nearby too, all serving good food. This is a no-frills hotel but good value for money. This place is made perfect by its staff, extremely friendly and helpful. Location is excellent near city/shopping and near RDS where I was going. 2 lovely and very efficient girls looked after us. Breakfast excellent. The location was great, Near the Aviva and just a walk to the city centre for shopping. Ballsbridge has good night life and nice places to eat. Room small but comfortable. I love to take a good shower, but I don´t want to wash my hair every time. Unfortunately the shower did not had a handheld shower head, which made it tricky to have a shower without getting your hair wet. There is a lot of stairs, so not ideal for disable. I had to haul 5 suitcases up and down these stairs which took me awhile. Even though I had parking, there is minimum parking so make sure you reserve parking in advance. It's on the expensive side for a family room, which was essentially a large room, with a double bed & 2 singles! Perhaps the prices are elevated when a concert is on!. The mattresses might be ready to be replaced but that's it. The room was rather small, and the floor boards creaked. My concern was for the guests below! The TV had multiple channels, but was in itself small! A shower of course, but no bath. The room was small and there was no table or desk to work at. The walls are thin and at times you can hear your neighbours' conversations (or whatever else they are doing). As its an old house it is not soundproofed - sadly the family on the floor above (including a very young child) stomped about & talked loudly until midnight. Perhaps not the fault of the accommodation just very inconsiderate people. En-suite needed refurbishing but was perfectly adequate. Would be better to remove the pine headboards completely as they did not attach properly and were very noisy. The bathroom floor could do with updating which I am sure they will be considering doing. The dining room could be a little larger to accomodate more guests as any one time. I have no dislikes. Bathroom outdated. Heat could be turned down a few notches. We turned heat off in our room immediately on arrival. We found the staff in the morning a bit sarcastic and not very friendly. No lift for heavy suitcases. Very small TV. nothing. Shower wasn't very powerful. Getting in the building was hard at times because we only had one key for 4 guests. Nothing. Room we had at front of building was very noisy from outside road traffic. Room small and noisy Although generally clean, the bathroom floor could have been cleaner. nothing. Paid 169 euro for a room with three beds on line when I booked (there were three of us) and was charged 30 euro extra per night for a third person when we checked in. The parking.not enough parking space for all the guests. N.a. breakfast seemed to have been cooked a while and not prepared fresh on our arrival to the dining room which was disappointing. No thing. Very limited parking. Bad language from other guests in restaurant. hard pillows and noisy floorboards. shower clean but could do with updating. The breakfast- you had to choose between continental or cooked , but what if you wanted a bit of both? I taught that was very mean but other than that I'd recommend. Our room was somewhat stuffy even with window open.
