Excellent Meals, although getting tea at breakfast was hard work. Had dinner at hotel one night and next night attended a formal function (with 350 others) at hotel and food and service were really excellent in both cases. The refurbishment of the hotel has been a complete success. The room upgrades are excellent.the newly refurbished room i loved the decor. staff are always friendly and helpful... The new ballroom is beautiful.

The new Bistro is Great!, Hotel used to be kown forbad food but not any more, the food is absolutly fantastic! Staff wouldbend over backwards to help you with anything! Decor excellent!Swimming pool was great, not too shallow, not too deep! Mood lightingin the bedrooms was an interesting touch! Huge tv in room althoughslightly tricky to use. We were at a wedding and it was fabulous!! Food was so good we couldnt move for over an hr after!! Staff were great!! We were only d guests so I can imagine how pleased the bride and groom were.I was able to work comfortably from my room. The food was good and room service was very good. When I checked in the check-in clerk gave me a card key for my room but did not advise me how to use it. The instructions at the back of the card holder told me to insert it arrow first in the slot but there was neither a slot nor an arrow! A fellow guest happen along the corridor and we worked out together how to open the door! Also the tv in the room is difficult to use with two remote controls.Toilet blocked easily (prob eco-flush to blame), no toilet brush inroom,(Asked for toilet brush but instead they moved us to a new roominstantly! Can't complain there!. Table staff at breakfast were poor. Turn down the heat! Way too high all over hotel. did not mention it was being refurbished when booking. roooms extremely warm the air conditioning didnt seem to be working properly. Lighting in the room is poor to read at desk. when one removes teh key card from the masterswitch all light extinguish immediately.fire alarms at 8:30 was a bit of a rude awakening!!!. The hotel entrance was badly signposted. I drove in the entrance and followed the signposts for "reception". This brought me down to the spa entrance which is nowhere near the main reception. This was at 7.30pm and there were no lights in the car park to light up the path. This is quite dangerous and needs to be rectified. The service in the bar/restaurant was appallingly tardy. Hotel is being up graded. Some aspects of the new rooms are too technical. You want to go into a room without having to read an instruction manual. Problem with room temperature, way above average, roughly 26 degrees, to warm for sleep. Renovations not finished.very disappointed as this was a special time for me celebrating my 50th birthday then I think due to renovations been done I made the wrong choice but surley bar and resturant could have been better saying that staff in resturant excellent reception not so good following question based on my experience would be wrong to say wouldnt recommend when renovations done might give it ago again. the noise was very bad and work going on around the hotel was not inpres,d. Price is too high for the area. Bed was hard and pillows too bouncy. price for what it is. Not disabled friendly (room bathrooms and corridors). Temperamental thermostat in room. Fire alarm incidents. Roomservice. Wine arrive without glasses. Mineral ordered did not arrive. No apologies and despite pointing it out it never arrived. They did try to charge for it! If you like to read in bed bring a torch as there are table lamps rather than reading lamps in the rooms.renovations in teh Hotel are very off putting and felt that full rate orice should not be charged at this time. I am sure it will be great when finished but it really is off putting at the moment, it's like a maze and everything is all over the place.Building work starts at 7.00am all day long until early evening. Yes, it is a building site,and is not fit to be open for business until renovations are complete, not mentioned when booking a room. There is no lobby, no bar and no dining room menu available. Construction work involving drilling began at 7.15am and lasted for twelve hours,shaking the bedroom walls with vibration and deafening noise. Access to the dining room was only available by stairs, no lift. Building works / restaurant, and bar all very poor. This Hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment / expansion and no reference is made to this on your website. This impacts significantly on the Hotels ability to provide 4* service.Restaurant meal was disappointing, hotel bathroom was not clean.
