Eileen and Michael were welcoming from the first moment we walked through the door. Eileen made afternoon tea for us . The breakfasts were superb. The room we had was #4 and was beautifully decorated. Michael gave us a lift to the bus staion when we left and there was a bus stop just acrossw the street, the #202. The bus ride was about 10 minutes into Cork City. There is a beautiful back yard and the bathroom was spotless. Very nice couple. Would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.
all reviews » Our host Eileen was a real gem - she made sure we had everything we needed and even offered to drop us off in the city (not sure if this is usual or not!). She supplied us with a full buffet breakfast in a beautiful dining room overlooking a garden, a lovely way to start the day. Blackrock is not right in the centre of Cork but the city is easily accessible by car (10 mins drive) or by bus - there is a bus stop right outside the accommodation. Warm friendly welcome,nothing is too much when we asked for advise about maps ,restaurants,shopping and transport! Breakfast was great especially the muesli,fruit salad and pancakes as I am not fond of Irish bacon and eggs etc . The coffee and tea facilities in the room were appreciated.The B&B is quiet and has bus transport just outside the door as well off street parking for a car. Eileen was an absolute superb host who went out of her way to look after us. Everyday she checked on us to see if we needed help or if there was anything she could do for our comfort. The house was so clean and her breakfast delicious. It's very easy to get to from the bus station. I will go back every time I go to cork and will recommend this B and B to everyone. We felt like family at Eileen & Michael's B&B. If you want a trip where you meet real people, and experience what it is like to live in the location, this is the place for you. The food was great and they were very helpful with how to get around & what is in the area. I feel like I have friends in Cork!. The hosting was excellent, Eileen and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. We even got a lift to the bus station when we were leaving which was most appreciated. The breakfast was delicious. There was a spar shop just up the road and the bus to the city stopped across the street. The owners where second to none when it comes to hospitality the rooms where clean and tidy very comfy beds overall excellent I felt very welcome oh and not forgetting the breakfast it was superb! don't let the buildings outside appearance deter you this is an excellent B&B. Eileen was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We caught a bus outside her door into Cork where we found the famous English markets, bought some provisions and ate them in Eileen's back garden - what a treat!! Her cooked breakfast was delicious. The welcome could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The accommodation was really comfortable and, had we had time to go into Cork, very convenient. Eileen even drew us a map of the best way out to the motorway for our onward journey. The hosting was fantastic, so welcoming accommodating and warm . Stellar service all round. The breakfast was superb consistently. The experience all round was with out fault and I would highly recommend any potential guest to stay here. Shower nice and hot but water pressure very low. small quibble really. A little hard to find. Parking at a minumum. Accommodation in B &B car parking is a problem. Staircase Is an issue for people with luggage.
