We were in Europe for 3 weeks, and stayed in 7 different hotels. We decided upon our return that Mercure Hotel wins our award for THE BEST hotel we stayed in, even with all the construction. Located close enough to old town to walk, clean room and bathroom (loved having a tub), excellent friendly staff, and WONDERFUL breakfast! We loved it!. Excelent. The 65 eur fair was a great value. However I believe that suchprice is not available when there are fairs in time. Highly recommended.

There is only a shower in bathroom, no bathtub available which is not good for a 4 star hotel. exactly outside of the hotel workers are working in a metro expanding project 24 hours a day and you have to close your windows to avoid noise entrance. Although windows protect sounds perfectly.Breakfast buffet needs improvement. They were out of most items with 2 hours left for the breakfast service. They should have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room.location is not easy to find. Location a little far out from city. Hotel is OK, location as such is not very attractive. It was nearly impossible to find from the street due to construction, parking is expensive and not included. Finally, we did not get the smoking room preference we requested over 6 months in advance and nothing was done to make this up to us.The sauna and fitness area are not up to date. noisy. Outside the hotel is one big building site and the parking is not the hotel's private parking as the website suggests but a public one 50 m away. Bed Size. check in-out takes too much time. very disappointed. paid for two double rooms, both at the same price one had single occpancy for my grandmother the single occupancy room was very small. There was building work going on which resulted in it being difficult for taxis to park. One of our party was 84 which ment that she had further to walk than would normally be necessary. The beds where really uncomfortable spring beds. Room was little small and in dire need for renovation. Also the dispenser in the bathroom was a bottle which you could use for shampoo and body soap. Little cheap isn't it? The cleaning lady came by three times before 12 o'clock: 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 to clean our room. The last time she even came into the room. Now I ask you why?.
