The stuff is really nice. We asked if we could check in earlier, and it was no problem. The waiters at the bar are always friendly and the whole hotel makes you feel really welcome. The room was very clean, although its a little bit small but for this price, this is totally legitimate. This was our 2nd stay at this hotel and if we are in Cologne again, we will definitly stay at this hotel beacuse we enjoyed it a lot.
all reviews » It's great value for money. Sensibly priced. Ok so the room is small but how much time does one spend in a hotel room. The breakfast is also send my priced. No cooked breakfast but what is on offer is fresh and constantly replenished. Just what is needed and the hot is always full and no wonder. I stayed at this hotel for two consecutive two night stays. I had to reservations and when I checked in I wasn't sure if I would stay the other two nights. Payment was expected up front for both the room, breakfast and bar service. Bed was comfortable and A/C temp controls were in the room. Really nice lounge and bar, we spent a lot of time there while waiting for each other. Breakfast was great, with a wide selection. The hair dryer in the bathroom was really decent, comparing it to other hotels'. The rooms were pretty and clean. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and knowledgable. The hotel was spotless and very modern. The bar was very nice and the prices rasonable. Our complimentary drink was welcoming and very pleasant. hotel is very nicely designed and is at a good location. Breakfast is quite good. Staff is friendly. The general environment of hotel is modern and relaxing. The lobby is great to sit and relax. They advised us to go to breakfast early because the hotel was fully booked. After 9.30, it was getting very difficult to find a free place. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very modern. There is too less space for clothes, just one small shelf. There was nothing not to like . Internet wireless signal was weak and dropped a few times. This was the same problem as the other Motel One in Hamburg I had stayed at a few days earlier. Had very few English channels, news or business only. There are limited storage in the rooms for clothes, a few shelves and a bar for hanging clothes, but no real wardrobe at all. The hotel is huge with a lot of rooms, on busy days the breakfast area is way too crowded. Our only negative was that room was slightly smaller than expected, but the decor and quality were very good, down to the expensive Lowe TV. the rooms lacked telephone. the size of room is ok but slightly bigger would have been better. Two single beds pushed together instead of one double (and two single duvets!) The room was too warm and we couldn't keep the window open because of the noisy road. Although we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel we did find it a little overpriced for a basic buffet. Nothing. No phone in the room. Had to go to reception each time I needed something or had a question. Very busy breakfast room because of Karneval. Wasn't pleasant with people virtually falling over one another, but staff coped well and counters remained well stocked. The TV turns on automatically each time you come back to your room. Gets very annoying having to turn it off again and again. The curtains could stand to be thicker (or set up to be drawn double) so that one could better sleep in without the sun waking you. The room was too small. There was no phone in the room to call the reception. Also, there was no soap in the room. Apparently this is a Motel One policy and you are supposed to wash your hands with haid/body wash. No in-room safe. Ontbijtzaal vol -> moesten mensen op de grond zitten aan de receptie. (maar positief punt=personeel zet tafels bij in de receptie ontvangstruimte) Door flauwe grappenmaker die bordje met "niet storen" aan onze deur had gehangen , kamer niet proper gemaakt. very hard bed! no space for clothes, no safe in the room. Small rooms with not much space. No wardrobe. would like to have a minibar. Breakfast OK, but not special and also no breakroom. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. We didn't get even soap to clean our hands in the room. The rooms are not soundprooffed.
