The B-Aparthotel Grand Place is perfectly situated in the touristic center of Brussels with all the little shops, near to the central trainstation. There is no staff, everything is automated, so a lot of time is saved at the check-in and the check-out. I took an one-bedroom appartment which is very clean, spacious, nicely decorated and at a very interesting price. Excellent location near the Grand Place. Clean and modern. Off-site staff was available via phone for questions and assistance. They were very helpful to us on two occasions. It's apparantly a non-smoking hotel so at the arrival we found a message saying that being caught on smoking in the room would cost 250€, I found it a bit exagerated so offering some smokingrooms would be interesting. The internetconnection costs 9,95€ for 1 day, would have been nice if it was included. There was an option for taking breakfast at the other side of the street except in the weekend and on holidays, but it wasn't very clear ( poster hanging in the elevator, no more information). Initial check-in is a little cumbersome, using access codes. We could not check in until 2:00 pm, precisely. No key in access box before 2:00 pm. Once we had our room key, access was very easy. There was no one at reception when we arrived until 2pm. We got there at 12:30pm with all our bags and had to "make due" for almost 2 hours until someone showed up. The code we were given to retrieve our keys was wrong and we could not get into the lock box and we had to wait even longer when our room was not ready at 2pm when it was supposed to be. N/A. WIFI is NOT free, and it is expensive, 10 Euro per day!. Extra charge for a WiFi Internet. This is not 2003, it is 2013. Feels like getting an extra charge for hot water. Who does not need that abroad in a business-like hotel?. The kitchen should be stocked with a few more essentials: paper towels, salt, pepper, and a few things for cooking. It's a waste to have to go purchase full size items for a 2-3 day stay. At least have them in the kitchen for purchase if they can't be supplied as standard supplies. Hotel seemed a bit tight with other supplies -- they didn't replace shampoo and soap unless I requested it specifically even though the bottles were empty when they cleaned the room. I'm not very found of black and white as dominant colors in interior decoration. Tha car parking cant be open from inside! Internet service cost money, should be free. Information about the parking were confusing, be careful. V difficult to find. Though located centrally most people were unaware of the street. As staff didn't work weekends we couldn't do a usual checkin. However a staff member did phone late the night prior to leaving to arrange for a delayed checkin procedure. Overall, no fault to the apartment and its very easy to move around in the touristy area. ----. pretty noisy in case you get the street site, residuals of smoke in the apparment. Corkscrew was broken, odour from underneath the sink. Nothing. Street noise was very loud. Constant use of ATM caused a lot of noise. Jazz club across street resulted in excessive noise from customers exiting club. This went on for hours - on and off. Only 1 pod of regular coffee and 1 pod of expresso provided for a 3 night stay for 2 adults. There was no possibility of us purchasing additional coffee. A few more pods would be nice. actually, i dont have the right to say smthng. because the hotel has no reception,you are alone.. if you are not goon in solving crosswords and puzzle, that means you can not enter to the hotel :) everything works with passwords.. breakfeast is weak, information, signs are not enaugh. Common parts feel a little dated but this is an apartment block, not a hotel, so not sure how much can be done to improve this. 1- only one pass for 2 residents. 2- more detailed adress 3- I did not receive the pin code that facilitate entrance, a family inside got me in, then I had to phone the head office to get the pin code that I was supposed to receive by mail 4- house keeping was not supplying the room with Shampoo, hair balsam or lotions on daily basis. the sounds of squealing pipes from bowels of building that disturb my sleep. As there is no reception and you cannot lock your room door I did not feel too safe. As it is apartments there is no reception and you have to use a key code to enter the main door and access the safe. The code I was given was wrong and I was left stranded for 2 hours. Extremely annoying. I wouldn't stay again for this reason. There was also another couple who had the same problem. No where to leave luggage during the day before our evening train. No breakfast on weekends =(( No free wifi. concilation policy. There is no staff if you need help. Difficult to say anything about the staff - I have never seen any. This place has no storage room for luggage or on site staff. Gotta keep that in mind. The furniture is in desperate need of replacement. The sofa and chair provided in the living area were simply filthy. None of us wanted to sit on either one. It was nice that they provided a dishwasher however, it stunk! We accidentally opened it and it was clear that it was in need of a real good cleaning. However, the beds were clean and quite comfortable. Still, because of the state of the rest of the furnishings, we only wanted to sleep, not relax there. The hallways were dingy/dirty. Needs a good carpet cleaning and coat of paint. Some of the furnitures are very old (broken desk chair, broken dustbin). Not super clean. During the time we stayed the cleaner didn't come to clean the room everyday and this time was my second time there last time the fire alarm rang someone had come quickly to turned off the alarm this time was terrible the fire alarm rang about 6 in the morning and no body came not even a fireman so all of us stayed downstairs with the annoyed noise for about almost 1 hr. When we arrived, our door code did not work. Luckily we arrived at the same time as other residents who were able to swipe us in. The finish of the apartment was slightly worn. There were stains on some of the soft furnishings and some of the fixtures were scuffed, but the place was very clean and presentable and if you're only there for a few nights, it's perfectly adequate and comfortable. No staff is present. This was a problem when the fire alarm was set of by a guest as well as when the code on my booking did not open the front door nor the locker to retrieve the card key. The telephone number indicated on the booking did not connect and was different from the one indicated at the hotel, which did connect, No access to BBC or CNN on the TV. tv system was impossible to switch on.
