A nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It is very central, so perfect for visiting SF. you can go almost anywhere walking from the hotel. The bed was comfy, everything was clean so.. all ok. Since this was our honeymoon and we had mentioned that while booking, we found a bottle of sparkling wine and a greeting card from the whole hotel staff in our room! so lovely!. Great designed and very original hotel with some different conceptual work inside. The room area was large enough. I loved the writings on the walls, the towels, and the lightning of the room.Ther e is even ironing table inside the room, very practical. Hotel location is very central. The stafff were proffessional and helpful. A remarkable place to stay again.
all reviews » I love all of the Kimpton hotels! This one is pretty small, but still a good deal for the heart of San Fransisco. The staff is very nice and the restaurant was excellent. I stayed there for the Nike Women's Marathon and the location was perfect. I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Hotel Triton. The staff was friendly and went the extra mile to be helpful. The location is unbeatable and the wine hour is a great touch. I will definitely stay there on my next visit to SF. I've been transferred by my company and in a rush had to travel with my pet cat. I stayed at kimpton hotels along the way and was treated wonderfully and found all locations to be a very welcome and comforting end to each day of driving. There are small details everywhere that is awesome. This is not your average hotel room and is just what you want if you like design and to be right in the spot - still not too snobby and luxourious!. I loved the design/decor style of the room and the lobby. The Hotel is very colorful and unique. I also loved the wine hour in the lobby and the location!. It smelled like pakistani/ indian food that someone forgot somewhere a week ago.. They need to take care of this in case this is a permanent problem. Just a tad small. I didn't like that guest had no access to the small patio area for lounging outside, which is shown in pictures when booking. I also asked for my white sheets to be changed for my second night's stay, because they were stained. Then the ones they changed them out with weren't any cleaner looking?. The hotel is looking a little tired in places - some of the carpets are worn and dirty. The rooms are VERY small and some of our party got rooms which overlooked an alley where bins were emptied (of glass) in the early hours of the morning. Little bit noisy at night. Nothing. Stayed for 3 nights and did not get fresh toiletries, so between the two of us, we ran out of shampoo and shower gel by the second night (minor nuisance, but should not happen in a 4-star hotel). sleeping at back of the building > quite some noice from other building airco's , ... the air condition is a little loud. Even though rooms are small, it is really good for a city hotel. The first time that I stayed they have charged me 60 dollar for a really short phone call. Be careful about it. Extremely noisy from street traffic and loud late night revellers. I thought is was a little pricey, but that's San Francisco. Slight musty smell in room: this is not a huge point, really. Just a comment for fine tuning something already quite good. Coffee was served in the morning but it would have been nice to have a coffee pot in the room. Small-ish rooms, but it is "downtown" SF after all. A little bit expensive, but San Francisco is expensive I'm afraid. Noisy air conditioning. Rooms quite small and no drapes on windows. Wooden shutters let lots of light in. Don't think windows were double glazed as the room was noisy due to traffic and nightly emptying of bins. The hotel was far too expensive for it's standard and presentation. The 'funkiness' to me was an excuse for poor, tired condition. It did not feel as clean as I would like for the cost and even tea and coffee making facilties should be in a hotel of this price. No handicap bars in shower or rubber mat for shower. Airconditioning unit not very effective. My "delux corner room" (#s ending in 19) was over the trash that was picked up nightly between 3:30A and 4A. VERY noisy. My cell phone was stolen from the hotel lobby, rooms are small and overrated/priced. Rooms and bed were very small. Our room faced the back alley so we got no sleep. Garbage trucks at all hours. Room had no curtains to try and keep noise out. The bed was tiny and that is something for us from England! Spend your money on a better hotel there are plenty in SF.
