This hostel at 685 Ellis is amazing. It's like an European style hotel with updated modern facility, nice and quiet(I imagine the one on Powell street won't be this quiet). It turned out the place is very convenient for sightseeing or shopping. Wifi works great. Towels, bed, and sheet are all fine. Van Ness Ave. which takes you to Fisherman's Wharf is 2 blocks away. Warm kindness, consideration, carefulness, self-made kitchen, clean room and towel,and hot qwater bathroom, quiet environment, near downtown, free coffee and hot water and breakfast, chqeap price room, share room with brand new,good friends from Australia,Sweden and Mexqico,in all, I like everythin.

Can't miss the elevator, it's soooooo vintage and special, have to say it's the coolest elevator I've seen. Breakfast was great! My room was really amazing, I had everything I needed! It was in walking distance to all the sights and places to see. The staff were very friendly. The location was good, it was near the main things to see in San Francisco. Breakfast provided. The hostel provides a friendly atmosphere, where is possible to meet new people from all over the world. Frequent events happen in the bar/lounge with a diverse and fun crowd. Nothing the hostel can fix. So many of the city streets are under understruction. Neighborhood is a little creepy, many homeless people live on the street. But other than that, perfect!. The neighborhood is not the best. There were a lot of indigents in the area. But is not the hotel's fault, so, you could just ignore that, while you don't mess with the indigents, it will be ok. In a rough area of town but handy to city centre. Noisy at night with Police sirens and rowdy street people sleeping rough on streets. Very squeaky wire-wove mattress base means lots of bedroom noise when your room mates are in bed. Location, very scary not for families or sole females.. I would not have booked if i had known the neighbourhood was so rough. Scary neighborhood. location slow wifi when morning (yes, a lot of people using it, but anyway). Location is a problem. Lots of homeless people, drug dealers and prostitutes live nearby. Unless you´re moving around by car, it´s never easy to get in or out of the hotel. Bathrooms need an upgrade. The area isn't great - plenty of tramps on your doorstep. Breakfast OK but why ask for a dollar for eggs/pancakes? Either offer it and increase the price a little of don't - this system is a it cheap. The location. Solo travelers mus have careful while walking in this area. neighbourhood. The location is a bit dangerous with people loitering during night time. This hostel is located in a ghetto area. It's not a good idea to go out at night.
