Our stay could not have been better. Great location for visiting nyc & surrounding area. Easy in-and-out, access to Newark airport. Excellent facilities at low price. Best value in area. Excellent restaurant with such great service we ate there several times rather than eating in the city. Most of all the young ladies who checked us in, Christelle and Charity, solved a reservation problem quickly and efficiently and made us feel welcome. We'll stay there every time we come to the nyc area.
all reviews » I enjoyed that both my rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. What I enjoyed most was the friendly staff. I had surgery while staying in the hotel, and the staff checked on me including the housekeeper who cleaned my room daily. I felt they went the extra mile to make sure I was okay, in which made the world of difference. The staff here was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was quite good - I already miss the wings with Jack Daniels sauce! Willie at the bar is very nice and took care of us during our 3 day stay. I stayed here for a bagpiping workshop and the facilities worked out very well for that. The beds were so comfortable, my back didn't hurt at all. The pillows were amazing too...no neck pain. So conveniently located to Staten Island, NYC, Hoboken and of course the airport. The price of the hotel didn't break the bank...good value for your money. Great, friendly service. We really enjoyed our stay!. I liked everything about this hotel. The room was beautiful, quiet, clean the bed was so comfy and neatly put together. Everything worked and the bathroom was clean as well... If needed again id definitely book this hotel. The Reception Desk and the. House keeping staff was courteous and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was really good and it was served in time. We would like to stay there again. Great location. It was very accessible. Nothing...the only positive was that the desk clerk on the way out on Monday morning was pleasant!. Not a thing. Not a single complaint. Honestly I did not like the food that it!. No hot water the last morning but they are going under renovations. Otherwise room was fine. The view wasn't the best, unless you like trains. But, we weren't there for the view. The location was hard to find at first and if you miss your exit you have to drive 3 mi into Bayonne to just turn around to come another 3 mi back. I did not find any thing wrong with the hotel it self or the staff. The cab from the hotel to Elizabeth was somewhat expensive. Parking was not included and no microwave in the rooms. Old fashioned decor in the lobby, however the rooms have recently been refurbished. The room was supposed to have a refrigerator but it was not there. I talked to the front desk and they gave me one, but the door wouldn't close well. N/A. Staff need to be a bit more friendly and attentive when answering questions. I was standing during check out waiting for the staff to clarify something for me she just walked away, without even excusing herself. Another staff was polite enough and saw me waiting and asked if I needed help. Staff also need to be informative in providing or directing tourists. We didn't get much help from the staff when we asked questions about going to New York City. Small coffee makers. Not enough set ups (i.e. coffee packs, cream & sugar). Frequency of shuttles to airport. Some staff did not speak English. Elevators, no safe deposit box not alternatives for your securities. Not to good attention at front desk. We were on the 6th foor and the elevators didn't work. far from everything. The way I was greeted at the restaurant. A very abrupt young man was at the door. He was not polite. Combative. My suggestion would be to put a sign at the entrance about using the restaurant for breakfast: if you do not have a coupon,the charge will be ..... This would minimize any discussion with your staff. The waitress had to cover his rudeness. No espn in room. Shuttle to airport were not on time I had to wait almost 40 minutes for the shuttle to the Airport, desk recepcionist were little help on this. No problems. Hotel is dated. construction was going on in the hotel. I was unaware of that when booking the room. It was noisy at times. nothing. Nothing to mention. Breakfast : no buffet some time ,. the shower was terrible. when turning on the shower the faucet at the bottom ran at the same time. making the water pressure horrible. Our room didn't have a microwave or a fridge so we weren't able to keep any of our food from the restaurant as leftovers. They are doing renovations so while working the elevator area was full of people working. The room could have been cleaner. There was trash and hair left from previous customers. We were awakened early from the sounds of renovations of the floor over our rooms. The hotel is far from NYC , it takes 1 hour and cost 25 dollar to get to the city (shuttle > air train > train) The hotel is currently under construction .... mediocre food. Hunt Room staff are slow to fulfil requests. Not many vegetarian options on dinner menu. No restaurants nearby. The employees at the front desk was not polite at all. She made us feel as though we were inconviencing her day by checking into the room. Condition of Bathrooms - needs improvement. limited connections to NY City. Transport was the slowest of all, no breakfast voucher ready upon check-in. A local phone call less than a minute cost me $1 !!!!. No bell boys, very basic room with no frills, limited menu choice,. paint peeling off doors. Construction. Our room was close to laundry machines and desturbs us few hours at night. Staff at check in and bar did not seem like they were enjoying their work. At the bar they sat and chatted work stuff in very loud voices. Hotel is extremely dingy. Carpets dirty and stained (on 6th and 7th floors particularly). Damage on doors and walls in rooms. Bathrooms less than spotless. Whole hotel generally sub-standard. From the moment I stepped out of my car, I was disappointed and thought how web pics and advertising can be deceptive, grotty, old, grubby carpets, rickety jerky noisy elevators, a shower with scalding water - could not adjust the temp.
