I like everything about our stay at the Hampton Inn at 35th St. All of the staff from the desk reception, maintenance and cleaning staff were very friendly and professional! My daughter loved the complimentary hot chocolate. She even commented "Mom, I really like this hotel" and she's only 14. The beds were comfy and everything was cleaned everyday. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and different each morning. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend .
all reviews » I selected Hampton Inn because, as a former Hilton hotels employee, I knew what I was going to get. I appreciate the early check in, the late check out, and, more importantly, thank you for honoring my request for a crib, it made a huge difference! Jane at the front desk was amazing! She's an asset to the hotel, made the check in process seamlessly. Luis at the breakfast buffet was very attentive and caring. The daily rate was a little more expensive than I wished to pay, but it was fair within. I had never been to ny before and had no expectations for our hotel. I read hundreds of reviews of most hotels and was worried. I was so wrong. This hotel is amazing. Wonderful bed, large bathroom, plenty of room for our luggage in room, great location, very friendly staff and full, free, hot breakfast every morning made the cost of our room even more cost efficient. Would 100% recommend!!!. I love the free internet, and I could not believe how great the free breakfast was. I have stayed at four star hotels in NY, but none compare to the great service we received when we checked in. I I will inform my coworkers to stay at your hotel. Also the entrance to the 34th Street/Herald Square subway was only about 50 meters from the hotel. Free WiFi worked very well. The room we had Empire View) was very clean and roomy enough. I feel safe when walking around the area at 11pm at night just with my lady friend. The hotel is very accessible to subway, stores and food. The hotel breakfast always serves fresh fruit and variable food. I also enjoy the all day complimentry coffee,tea, hot chocolate station. The location was excellent. Walkable to almost all places of interest. The staff were no-nonsense and courteous. I had a late checkout as well until 1pm. A very clean place and they pride on their standards of hygiene. Will surely stay there again, just because of its location. Subway at your doorstep, Macy's accross the street, clean & practical rooms (had room with 2 double beds), quiet (back of building), great beds, delicious breakfast, complimentary bottles of water at reception & coffee available all day. Nothing. The only problem within the hotel was the tv. Color was bad. But we only had it on while getting ready to leave or for bed so it was a minimal problem. The building beside us had construction going on. No noise problems but weird to have someone look into your room. We just closed our blinds. No wash cloth in bathroom. I had to call the front desk and they brought them to us. The included breakfast was very basic and limited in food options. The use of Plastic Cutlery and Polystyrene plates does not give an impression of an up market establishment. The heater/cooler fan was very noisy when operating. the heating system is very noisy. It woke me up at night. Small room. A very ordinary breakfast. But there is a starbucks in every corner. Nothing. I felt like the concierge was just there to make money and was not at all helpful. She was condescending and rude. We ended up getting out tickets to shows and ballgames over the internet rather than using her service. The add did not say anything about the Herald station being within one block so we expected to have to walk farther to the Subway. It was a nice surprise, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. Nothing. The mattress was quite soft. The curtains didn't cover the windows adequately and in Manhattan where lights are profuse it made the room too bright for sleeping and I was on the 2nd floor making that worse. Also the bathroom door would not stay open, not really a big deal for me but the room was designed for handicapped access and so someone with a wheelchair or walker would have struggled with this and shouldn't have to. That door should be leveled so it doesn't close automatically. Noisy ice machine just outside of our room was occasionally a nuisance. Disposable cutlery and crockery and breakfast wasn't ideal. No facilities, no mini bar in the room! If it was a little cheaper, then I would say it is perfect, other than this it was good !. Unfortunately during our stay there was noisy building work on the opposite side of the street which continued all through the night including lorry reversing noises at 02.30am on more than a few nights. This had nothing to do with hotel but disturbed our sleep significantly... we were indeed in the city that never sleeps!. Lack of courtesy of a recepcionist called Kadina, which refused to allow our check out at 12 hours (one hour ahead) knowing that my husband was very sick. Her colleague Cathy, on the contrary, gently gave us more this time. Confusion during the breakfast, because the space is insufficient. Better to go in late at 9:30 pm, as there is always spare and fewer people. The noise of the doors, but it has a lot to do with the lack of education of guests. A few undetermined hairs in the room(by the time we have arrived). One morning the hot breakfast consisted only of meat courses. No cold water. nothing!. The purpose of the trip was to see some shows and visit museums so the hotel was not in the ideal location, but that's not the hotel's fault. The breakfast area was small and the food was very basic. The rooms are a little bit small and the lobby is not that spacious. Seemed there may have been bugs in the room. I woke up with at least 3 bug bites one morning. Then a few more little ones for the rest of our stay. The breakfast was OK, just the hot breakfast was not as good as I was expecting.No Bellhop to help with baggage. I liked everything!. Everything was great!. nothing. nothing. One of the ladies on the reception was not helpful and even rude, wifi and internet on the 1st floor was not working. Not being able to get a table for the complimentary breakfast for our family whilst single people sat at tables for four was MORE than annoying, to the point the first day we walked out without eating, not what we had planned at all. A bit expensive for the amenities though breakfast was very generous. Large group of teenagers visiting from England. Running around and yelling in the halls until 1:00am for two nights. I did not sleep. Nobody asked them to be quiet. the heater, it was so cold, and I called the reception if they could help me, but no one came. So I slept without heat!!!. they did not have any extra pillows; one elevator broke for couple of days. Added hundreds of charges to final bill that had been sent. Maybe they should put some cheese in the breakfast buffet. Price quoted on the website does not include local taxes which do not get added on until you check out. Slow elevator.
