The hotel and the room were impeccably clean. It is a completely non-smoking hotel, and this really does make a difference. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, I would say, above and beyond expectation. The beds were comfortable. The room was a decent size (especially for Manhattan). Location was fantastic -- right at the subway station, which (importantly for us) was accessible by an elevator. We were prepared to take taxis a lot because one of us can only walk about a blo.
all reviews » The hotel is very good for visiting Manhattan. It is located in front of Chambers Street Subway stop, on the red line, 10 minutes from Times Square. The rooms are quite small but really well cleaned and the hotel as well. Hotel Staff are at your disposal for any needs (i.e. we need a powerful hair dryer and we received it in 1 minute directly in room) and you will find someone to help you 24 hours/day. You have at your disposal 2 iMac and a printer for free near reception and free wifi also ins. The staff were all so kind, patient, friendly, proactive. letsbookhotel.com was very good to deal with. Loved having a Starbucks downstairs & the 1,2,3 trains right out the door. An easy walk to City Hall, a vibrant neighborhood. We walked to Little Italy and Chinatown, too. Rooms very clean and tidy. Housekeeping excellent. Happy to have windows that opened and a ceiling fan. Met people from Italy, Spain, Germany on the elevator. Relatively quiet room off street with view of other building. The room looked like it had been recently renovated. It was clean and modern. The flat screen television was conveniently located on the wall so viewing was easy. The staff was extremely personable and friendly. The location of the hotel was perfect. An entrance to the subway was right out the front door. A Starbucks Coffee Shop was also only steps away from the front door. This hotel made our trip to New York City a wonderful experience. We will gladly stay at the Cosmopolitan again!!. Pretty nice lobby with really nice people working there, not a big and fancy one but really organized and clean. The rooms are perfect to stay, take a bath and leave again to the city. If you are looking for a place with pool, a big restaurant or a big meeting room its not your place. To remark the Starbucks and the subway entrance right aside the hotels exit. We loved the place. rooms were very clean and modern, plus they were cleaned everyday by the staff. Great free wifi, free access to computers and printer in the hotel reception. Staff were helpful when booking trips/attractions in the city, and most of all it is really affordable hotel for NYC. Room didn't have a view however this kept us away from street noise which was great for sleep. Hotel location is perfect to reach Manatthan just walking (couple of blocks away) or taking the metro (station round the corner). Next to the hotel there is a good and nice bar for breakfast and an easy resturant including pizza if you tired and don't want to go far away. Hotel is offering a nice Internet service and booking system for visits and ground trasportation. Very nice hotel, centrally located in Tribecca. Very convenient with two subway stations right in front. The room was small, but with a very good bed, nice pillows and a decent bathroom. Also free wifi and a great cafe downstairs for breakfast. We had a great stay in May and would definitely reccommend it as a nice mid range hotel for a week in New York City!. The room was beautiful! I stayed in Room 705 and would live there if I could. :) And all of the staff I came across was extremely pleasant and welcoming. I especially have to mention the young man who let us keep our bags there on Sunday at 11 A.M. after we checked out so we could do a little sightseeing. He was so nice and accommodating. Restaurants for breakfast- good variety. Beautiful Italian Acapella. Our room very hot air con struggled but it was very hot week. 24 hour shop over road handy for water and cup of tea?. An older building but very comfortable.Room maybe a little small for 5 but very quiet , no street noise even though we were on 2nd floor.Bathroom and bedroom cleaned everyday. Plenty of amenities. Location, Location, Location Tribeca is a vibrant yet quiet neighborhood and Chambers' street subway station just down the hotel will bring you anywhere in Manhattan very easily. Indeed the price is perfect for this kind of hotel. Rooms were small but for us two it was perfect comfort, and i understand NYC rooms are pretty small anyway. I would stay here again absolutely. There was a noisy air-con machine outside the window on first night but this was rectified right away. Too warm in the room for this cold season and only solution is to start the air conditioning. Sometimes a little noisy with all the traffic, but we were on the top floor, so it was not too bad. The elevators, you had to wait a long time. I would have taken the stairs but seven flights would have been too much. Our room very hot air con struggled but it was very hot week. Very noisy. Would have been nice to have a kettle for cup of tea to begin and particularly end day after walking all day. Only 1 lift so if on upper floors would be slow to use. Didn't bother as as we were only on 2nd floor. Nothing comes to mind!. Nothing. Room overlooked street which was very noisey. Extractor fan has been built into the bottom of the window so very poor sound proofing overall Bathroom is tiny. Only 1 lift in the hotel which was very slow. We took the stairs more than the lift. The bathroom is absolutely tiny and the toilet is really low. I'm 6.1 and the seat was bellow my knees :/ Not good for old people or people with back problems. It was very noisy. There were roadworks outside, which we heard all night. That is not something the Cosmopolitan could do anything about though!!. The room was really noisy. The air conditioner in the room was turned of but outside of the window there were a lot of other airco's. Of course one can expect noise in a city but if you dont like sleeping with earplugs dont book here! If this had been different the score would be 10/10 but i can understand the noise will drive some people crazy (and if you are here in summer and need the airo in the room itself then brace yourself for even more noise. In that case the room gets a 6/10. Only one elevator, so I use the tiny stairs except when carrying bags, a lot of construction now, but that will go away, no in-room coffee maker, the smaller café being closed Sat-Sun. The room we had booked was very small and for a weeks stay would have driven us mad however the manager was very understanding and we were able to upgrade to a bigger room for a small increase in the daily rate. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Our room was too warm/hot. The aircondition was working all the time. The building is quite old. and the hotell was aware of this problem. Small bed if you travel just like friends not couple, one blanket((. Small room and just one slow elevator. Only downside was the single slow lift and the road works noise outside. - road works on Cambers st. but it going to end - bathroom can be bigger - air ventilation in room, and bathroom must be renovated and separated, window only helps to create fresh air or down temperature. I did not like the fact that for whatever reason, the city water department shut off water from 10pm till 5am the last night of my stay and as iwas on the 7th floor, the water pressure never reached me in time to shower the next morning. That was most aggravating and unpleasant. There should have been another towel rack in the bathroom or at least a hook on the back of the door to hang a damp towel on. Also, a mirror in the room (in addition to the one in the bathroom) would have been nice. That "Dolls" was around the corner and I had my teenage daughter with me. There is nothing wrong with this place. One of our favorite hotels. I hated to leave!!. Wifi kept playing up and down and have to keep log in than having automatic log in. I think the valet parking price is too high.... Only one lift available; very slow operation. No tea or coffee making facilities in bedroom. The road noise outside of the hotel was sometimes challenging (btw, Barbara, Receptionist, initiated my room selection with this in mind and I was provided with a room away from hte street. Nothing. Very small room and bathroom, no space for luggage, no free coffee or tea in the room like in european hotels, expensive, room poorly insulated. No minibar. Air conditioning a bit loud. a bit expensive. Nothing, absolutely nothing to complain about. N/A. Bath tub is a bit small air conditioning is not using a centralised system. for the price and location there were no downside for me. Its a budget friendly hotel in the centre of New York, so the rooms are small and there are no facilities, but what would you expect in this location / price range??. Room was not yet cleaned at 5:00 PM. High price Very noisy AC and works early morning in the street Tiny room and tinier bathroom Additional bed (sofa) very uncomfortable Very slow elevator. Room 320 very noisy. Single glazed windows ensure you hear everything happening on the street. Earplugs definitely helped. A kettle would have been useful for a hot drink first thing in the morning.
