We enjoyed our stay at the "D", the staff was very nice and helpful.We were in Vegas for a wedding and plans for dining had been made at other locations.I'm sure dining at the "D" would have been enjoyable too. all reviews » We had 2 nights in Vegas and wanted to spend one at the strip and the other at freemont, so staying at the latter, which is more affordable, seemed like a good idea. The room was confortable and spacious. The toiletries were of above-the-average quality. Valet and parking were complimentary for those staying at the hotel, that was very agreeable. About the cassino, it is a little smaller than some of the others at freemont, but we had loads of fun on the second floor, in which they keep their v. This is a great hotel in the center of the Fremont St experience. I highly recommend it. We stayed here for Presidents Day weekend. The price was excellent, rooms were clean and the beds super comfortable. We stayed on the 11th floor and could hear the downstairs music. Cant complain though, Its vegas and youre right in the center of everthing. You must go to the American Coney Island! The Coney dogs are delicious and they are open 24hrs!. I have stayed at this hotel prior to it being The D- and this was so comfortable!- The bed and pillows were the best!- The first night is usually a horrible sleep, but not the case at The D. I would stay at this hotel over and over. Very affordable for a large room, bathroom is large, esp if traveling with several woman. The counter top is roomy enough for all your toiletries and makeup etc. Found my suite was very clean, comforting, and easy to relax in. ( get the edge off ). Upon arriving, when unpacked, I noticed two of the four televisions would not turn on. I notfied the front desk, someone arrived within minutes to repai the problem. He was friendly and very professional. Though I can't remember his name, he was working on May 25, eve. Thanks Bob Tennant. I love the room, it was so comfortable and clean for the money. The guy that was at the desk was so nice and efficient. Edwin who worked at the shuttle desk or whatever its called was unbeleivably nice. He went out of his way to find out information for us and even called our room with information! He is amazing young man! Guys at the desk are so wonderful too. Well, I was here for the ces show; it's actually pretty close to the conv. Ctr and I like that walgreens was just a short walk distance! The food (at the d Grill restaurant) was pretty yummy! Maintenance was timely in fixing the sink. I had always loved Fitzgeralds and so I planned to stay there when this trip came up. Right at the heart of Freemont street, with all the glitz, glamour, and gonzo of Freemont street experience, and the balance of the hip Bohemian feel of Freemont East only a couple blocks away. The staff were nice and polite. Really felt welcome when checking in. I would recommend to anyone and I would absolutely stay at The D Las Vegas again. My wife feels the same way. The location is great as well as the price. Good food. Flat screen tv and they up graded us to a corner king unit. The Vue bar on the 2nd floor had some pretty loose video poker. it'S completly new, new beds great make over, rich clean feel and it'S A exciting place to play at. staff very friendly and helpful and downtown just keeps getting better. There's nothing awkward about the hotel, though. The music throughout the casino is way to loud. I could not hear the check in lady, I had to bend way over the counter and keep saying what. It was very annoying. seemed to be a overload for the elevators. Need more. I heard the band too loud as I was on 8th floor and they were so nice and moved us to the 24th floor next time I request way up high and on the other side of building only because I'm old and don't need loud music! LOL. One thing bad was the heater!! After having/leaving it on for like an hour...it still did not warm up the room; ended up just turning it off; same with the shower water...have to leave it on and wait for the shower water to get hot. Did not like having to go to the discount booth for the Scintas show. Being a guest at the d the price should be matched. Thanks . The shower was so difficult to turn off so that it didn't leak, and it sounded like there was a drip in the ceiling from the bathroom above. The elevators were ridiculous.....too small and too long of a wait. $20.00 resort fee wt* really?The view sucked and the window didn't hold out much sound. 1) Degree of smokiness. 2) Loud air conditioner. 3) Music in casino WAY too loud. 4) We were locked in our room (lock malfunctioned) and had to call 2 x for help. 5) Our TV did not work. 6) NO FREE WI FI 7) Our "non-smoking" room still smelled of smoke. The restraunt was wonderful....just wish you had a "senior" menu. We hate wasteing food and when you are traveling - you can't take it with you. Maybe offer an extra plate for dividing the food..for an additional fee from $1 to $5. Alot better than the waste. Loud music out our window. But that wasn't really bad since it stopped by 2 am. Best Vegas trip so far. The music in the evening by the black jack tables was too loud. Either playing black jack or the slots near that area was not enjoyable. Not a thing!!. The big one for me was the no room service. I am one that loves at least a pot of coffee in the morn. The coffee set up in the room, not cool. Coffee and sugars are not that expensive. We as coffee drinkers, we will pay the extra 5 bucks on ro rates, and not to mention what it will do for your customer service. Don't get me wrong, I liked The D. I would stay again. a/c unit must run all the time which is noisy. No refrigerator or microwave in room. I felt the housekeeping person could have made the bed, however they just pulled the covers up and left everything. It was interesting! They didn't replace the coffee or creamers, just left everything the same, the only thing they did was give me new towels and replace the shampoo. They need to put themselves out a bit more. The only thing that wasn't so good is that only a handicap room was available for the room type we wanted. That isn't really a problem. It just wasn't expected. Every thing was fine. did'nt win A million but had A great time trying. " I'll be back". Our air conditioner was leaking and there was a puddle on the floor. The cleaning lady walked in and we weren't dressed even though the do not disturb sign was on the door. The worst thing was on booking dot com our room was $3 more for a king and if you book directly through the hotel it is only $22.00. Nothing!. The resort fees not being disclosed and explained. I thought they were like incidentals. The young man at desk said I will get my money returned on credit card and it did not happen. A lot of Vegas Hotels charge an extra 20$ a night in resort fees. Pool was not all that great and the parking is not all that great. Slow, old elevators. Hallway carpet old and dated. Rooms have new carpet, however. There is a 20 dollar resort fee for ???? Not a good pool, and they charge you for wifi...on top of the resort fee. Definitely a reason not to book too many nights here. If you want to charge a 20 resort fee...the. At least give me something for it!. The valet! They definitely need to get it under control... It took way too long.. Every time... Even a manager had to step in and help out because rthe like to pick up the car was ridiculous and the line to drop off the car was all the way to the street... And the valet staff were nowhere to be found... I guess they were at the parking lot. Elevators were slow and one got stuck. Bathroom plumbing issues. Noisy a/c which doesn't cycle off. Noise from Fremont Experience bands until wee hours of morning. Housekeeping skipped my room. The front desk staff were curt, not over friendly or helpful. Thankfully remaining staff made up for it. Our TV remote didn't work. Being we were not there to watch TV, it was not big deal. the resort tax stuffed on my bill at the end and having to pay extra for internet. Didn't win my fortune but that's not your fault. The hallway on the floor my brother stayed on smelled like fish all weekend, but other than that great stay. Music was way too loud in gaming area--went hoarse trying to communicate with dealers on craps tables. Was given a smoking room and asked for non-smoking. The plumbing in the room was not good. Toilet handle had to be held to properly flush. Sink gurgled loudly after washing hands. Having to pay for coffee in the rooms. Starbucks coffee packets being charged for $2.50; Bad plumbing backing up in sinks; Cold showers. Having to walk through the casino to get to pool. Air conditioner unit was loud. The pool water was salty. The free outdoor concert sponsored by the D was a mad house. Pushing, shoving and just rude people. The MC announced the band and they did not come out for another 1/2 hour. The mix/sound was too loud and could not understand the singer. It was hot and muggy and tensions were high. Had to shove my way out to get my wife out of the crowd. music is too loud in the morning , had family members that stayed on the eighth floor and they couldn't sleep because the noise was so loud (we were on thirty-first floor and it wasn't that bad). Fire alarm went off at 7:00 in the morning. Room was not clean upon check in. Hotel did not give us a King bed. Not a good pool.
