it was really nice guest house. i'd love to stay at the Grange Lodge again. it is only 10 min to the centre by walking and also same to the train station. the room was excellent, everything was clean and comfortable. the breakfast was delicious. also the owners of the guest house were really friendly, helpfull and welcoming people. thank you for everything,. Newly refurbished single room is a top classed. Everything is just perfect. (unfortunately, dueto the basin and the shelve's position, to brush the teeth is a little bit hard for me.). all reviews »
I thought the hotel was lovely, my room was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. The proprietors were extremely welcoming and the breakfast was very appetising. I enjoyed everything about my stay at the Grange Lodge but in particular the very friendly and helpful approach of the owners.Excellent value for money, perfect location and extremely friendly owners. Very much hope to retrurn. The owners where lovely and very nice, liked that they where trying to re design the rooms. very friendly.nothing was to much trouble.food was lovely.all in all very enjoyable stay. welcoming, friendly,helpful, good food, very clean and tidy,thoroughly enjoyed my stay.close to city centre, friendly staff, clean, comfortable, value for money. Parking could be a problem at peak times.Decor of room was a little 'tired'. room was a little small.The room was small (as I expected) but cleverly designed and beautifully presented. The room would be too small for two people so I should have been quite happy with a smaller bed to allow a little more room to move around. Mind you, the bed was extremely comfortable!. no. wash basin too small.no shampoo. Our room was very small, but we did book fairly late, so probably had the last available room.the single room was far too small, owners trying to cram a room into a small space.

- Follow the outer ring road (A1237).
- Join the A19 into the city centre.
- Keep on this road and drive straight through the traffic lights at Clifton Green.
- Drive past St Peter's School on your right and you will then see The Grange Hotel on your right.
- Turn left immediately opposite this hotel and you are now on Bootham Crescent.
- Grange Lodge is approximately two-thirds down this road on your right.
