The Adria hotel is amazing. The decor was beautiful, the room was a great size and the bed was very comfortable. Everything is immaculate. Free soft drinks in the mini bar. All the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. You get proper service in the Adria. all reviews » Butlers - extremely helpful, friendly, & efficient Rooms - we stayed at the Adria twice during our European travels, for 4 nights at the beginning and 2 nights at the end. The rooms are larger than I expect in London, the bathroom floors are heated, the decor is elegant and understated, the bedding is extremely comfortable. Location: Kensington is a superb neighborhood, with lots of restaurants nearby, close to Kensington Palace & Hyde Park Ambiance: everything about the Adria speaks o. The serenity was immediate as we were welcomed into the hotel; sheer calming, soothing and relaxing hospitality. The lush and plush decor of the room; all rooms had individual names relating to London, which gave an added delightful personal touch. The evening 'turn-down' which included fresh towels and a clean up in the en suite. Iain, the charming, charismatic Head Butler who assisted us when we vacated the hotel. Adria will undoubtedly be on my pocket list and I will make it home base every time I visit London. I am very impressed with how Al Rayyan group turned a Victorian town house into a luxurious yet tranquil urban sanctuary, a combination of old and new. This hotel does not serve alcohol but I wouldn't let it put you off. The only drawback, which wasn't really an issue, is no alcohol. But there are lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. This is only a minor dislike: the style of music playing (quietly!) in the background at breakfast!. I hate having to remove piles of cushions from the bed before I can use it, then never know where to put them so they just end up looking untidy on the floor (but this seems to be the fashion everywhere now.). Paying the bill. having to leave... Only negative is you can feel and hear trains pass on the underground - it obviously runs below building. But for me this wasn't a big deal, didn't stop me sleeping, just interfered with tranquility that otherwise exists in hotel. lighting in room could be brighter. No standalone shower. 1- asking for 2 different credit cards or a cash deposit EVEN THOUGH I paid for the room in advance by credit card 2- no smoking policy. Remote control for TV in bathroom wasn't working. I left a note for the room cleaner but no action was taken and this was not fixed. There was no hot water in the shower but staff did offer to let me use a shower in another room so not a big deal. Nothing!. Hotel states that eggs are served along with pastries, fruit etc for breakfast. No eggs and none offered. Also states WiFi / Internet if free. Not so true. If you connect to internet via the tv in your room, only the 1st 10 minutes are free. Then there is a charge. If you just "close out" the internet window, you are still connected to the internet and get charged. You must "find" the log out button, which I never saw. They would not even consider refunding me the fee or meeting me 1/2 way. you could feel the hotel shaking when the train pass. It did not bother me but I for some ppl this is a major issue. The electronics for lighting, etc. in the rooms is too high-tech and not user-friendly at all. Wasn't aware that it was alcohol free! A bit of a shock as we enjoy a relaxing bar Breakfast could have been better-moderate choice of continental, not enough supply Expensive cooked options extra. The gym small. slight noise from tube. Some noise/vibration from the underground tube. No real dislikes!. Noise from underground. Alcohol not being served .This needs to be highlighted when people book this hotel. Pretty much noise from the tube. Nothing. smell of cement in toilet section. The hotel is far from the shopping and tourism sites. Close to the museums but far from the main attractions. Nothing. Nothing!. Workmen outside our room in the morning. Being told that breakfast was included and then being charged for paoched eggs. The decoration is quite specific. This is very personal. no complaints. alcohol was not available in dining room and it was not clear from the web site . Due to religion ,there was no english breakfast ie bacon & sausage (no pork ) and you could not drink alcohol downstairs. Not really any negatives.
