Breakfast was good value - just over £8 for unlimited buffet (inc. cooked breakfast) and unlimited Costa coffee. My bedroom was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Location good - 5-7 mins walk to Princes Street and 10-15 mins walk to Royal Mile/castle. Haymarket train station 2 mins walk away - for trains to Glasgow (and to Waverley if you don't feel like doing the 20 min walk). Murrayfield and Tynecastle about 20 mins away by foot, if you're catching some sport while in Edinburgh. S.
all reviews » Fabulous hotel. Staff were great, everybody was friendly and polite and went out of their way. Location is super, 2 minutes walk from haymarket station and 15 walk into Edinburgh city centre. Buses stopped outside the hotel to go to Princes street if you didn't fancy the walk. Food was good, we had breakfast and was lovely with lots to choose from. Didn't eat there otherwise but saw the food and it looked very nice. Rooms and beds clean and comfy. Great hotel. 1. The staff. We stay at Premier inn all the time and love the cleanliness and the uniformity of the chain. It is always a nice room, it is always a nice atmosphere it always has a nice eaterie but Edinburgh had all of those things and more. The Staff are brilliant, welcoming, helpful, friendly, the best group of people I have ever come across. We own a business with staff and I would take any one of the Premier Inn Edinburgh Haymarket on anytime. Fantastic. We had a very pleasant stay in the Premier Inn In Edinburgh. The staff were efficient, helpful and pleasant. The food couldn't be faulted, if I had to crab it for any reason it would be that the traditional Scottish kipper wasn't available for breakfast. Overall the breakfast was excellent and while it was busy the hotel never seemed noisy. A great place to stay if you want to reach all of Edinburgh easily, in my opinion. Will be back. Breakfast staff worked really hard as the restaurant was manically busy but they cleared tables, kept things topped up and provided special orders (porridge, poached eggs etc) quickly and with a smile. Location is easily reachable from airport and city center. It is just few minutes walk from Haymarket Station of Airport Busses. From the city center it is easy to find a bus passing just in front of the hotel entrance. If you like to walk it is about 20 minutes to city center. The location was excellent, close to everything but peaceful and quiet so everyone got a good nights sleep. It was spotless and the staff were helpful and friendly. The whole family could stay together, the breakfast was late so we could get up at our own times yet still be together, there was space for children to play without disturbing other visitors, and we had easy access to all the city sights. we have stayed with u a few times as we visit our son in uni ,We realy enjoy our stay nd ur staff are fantastic ,look foward to visiting again in the new year .The location is great just a few mins walk to city center Evelyn Ireland. The hotel is located within five minutes of the Haymarket railway station. The royal mile was 15minutes walk from the hotel as was Princess street. Really liked the location. There was a lot of noise from the street on our second night (Saturday) but the hotel could hardly be blamed for that, It raised an eyebrow as there was a police station nearby and the noise went on for some time!. The lifts are a little bit of a worry - they jolt and are hard to get going - other than that - all good. Adds to the excitement:). Nothing to dislike. It would have been nice if it had been a little closer to Princes Street, Royal Mile etc but the walk kept us fit and helped wear off the effects of the breakfast!. We had a family room which was slightly shabby but clean and comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights but I didnt sleep well at all on the second night as the room was too hot and we had no way to control the temperature - other than opening the window! The thermostat did not seem to work. I really can not fault this hotel!!!!. Nothing. You need to pay £3/day for wireless internet. In our room the signal was weak. We needed to stand next to the door of the room to connect to Internet. The heating system of the room was not satisfactory. We always woke up in a cold room in the mornings. I think the themostate of the radiator does not turn on automatically once it turns off. There were only two issues. The pull out single bed was not very comfortable, also the was a loud humming noise every so often possibly to do with the waste or ventilation system. We were out and about a lot so it didn't largely annoy us but when we were in the room it would disturb you. We had to come HOME----but we'll be back. N/A. Location - next to a busy road. It was all good. A little far out to be called City, a good 20 minute plus walk, although I believe there were buses which we should have asked about but didn't. The lifts sounded shaky and as I'm nervous in them I was always concerned about travelling in them. Double glazing is in poor repair in my 4th floor room - draught whistled in when rain/wind outside. Heating control had max of 23 C - it only just kept up with the cold draught and I wanted it warmer. Nothing really. There was a large squad of rugby players at breakfast who ate everything in site, but the staff coped well and remained calm and eventually provided for everyone. Insructions I received where not very good hence it took us sometime to find you. Nothing. Nowt. The croissants!. the hotel could offer a small friedge and coffer in the rooms. Nothing. Nothing. bar and food area all in same part and there were a few people with choice language in one night - the staff did remind them it was a hotel though. i found the bed uncomfartable. It is a wee bit out from the main area but a walk or a short taxi journey will sort that out. nothing. Parking was slight expensive, would be better to set below 5Euro/day. The only small thing was the menu, soup was repeated for a few nights so didn't have any as it was the same for 2 nights. Missed the Pate. and there was not much choice in chicken meals. Everything else was lovely. We are used to Beefeater meals were they have this. Can be crowded at breakfast. The cost of the drinks in the hotel was a bit of a shock. rooms at front of hotel or above extractor fans at rear are noisy if you are sensitive to noise or are a light sleeper ; if you want a quiet room ask for rear room on a higher floor; no air-con. Young children being allowed to run around and be boisterously loud in the dining area. but that is just my feelings that children should be well mannered amongst others. Wifi access a continuing frustration. Only worked adequately in/around centre of hotel. hopeless in actual room.
