Pauline, the owner, was extra-friendly, she even gave me a ride on my first day at the city! She informed me about bus details and anything else I've asked her for, helped me book a taxi and find shops I needed and she was always concerned about my welfare and willing to please. The place is a 10-minute bus ride to the city centre but that was never a problem as by taking the bus I was able to see the residential neighbourhood which was a different touch to the trip. When I go back to Edinburgh. all reviews »
Pauline and George the owners were so friendly and Pauline's humour was everything we'd hoped from a true Scots, a very witty woman! They went out of their way to make us feel at home and their home was so cosy and relaxed. The breakfast was excellent and really filled us up for the day. The dog features made it look even cosier and no dogs were seen unless we asked to see them, who were adorable. We highly recommend this lovely guest house.
The manager - Pauline - was extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious enough, clean and warm, bathroom the same, breakfast was also great (we could choose btw English and Continental). It is a bit further from the city centre but there is a bus stop in front of the house and two buses go regularly to the centre, it takes about 30 minutes so no trouble. The place is very calm and quiet so you can have a decent sleep, which is great.
Poline (the lade who owns the house) was willing to help all the time and made our stay perfect, she even gave us a lift to a very nice restaraunt area and advised several great places. She tells many great stories. The breakfast was terrific, full Scottish with black pudding, or just eggs with salmon, plus fruit, muesli, yogurt. The room itself was big enough, with a garden view, bathroom eh suite, hot water - everything you need.
Pauline was a delightful ad endearing hostess and I feel fortunate to have found her. The place was quiet and clean and nicely appointed and the breakfast was very good.
There is a bus stop directly in front of the house for easy access to the city and the train station.
All in all a very positive experience. I recommend it to anyone and will stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.
Thanks, Pauline!.
The landlady was absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly, and helpful. Easy to get into city centre by bus, bus stop just outside the house. Brilliant breakfast, with lots of choice. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Edinburgh. Would recommend to friends, and if we are staying in Edinburgh again would certainly consider Milton House as a base again - Excellent!.
It was the best hotel I^ve seen in Great Britain. Pauline was so friendly, helps us in everything. It was very warm, home athmosphere. She tell us about the city, what should we see, what is the best way to get there. We do recommend this nice Milton House!!!.
The host is very friendly and the place is quite and cosy. Though a bit difficulty to find it on the first night, it is close to bus stop and very convienient to travel to the center. I really feel at home when staying at Pauline's house.
The owner (Pauline) was extremely pleasant and helpful. The facility is convenient to the central city via frequent bus service and the scottish breakfast to die for. Very good value for money.
Great welcome and assistance throughout the stay . Room was cosy and the breakfast great. Bus stop right outside with 5 per hour visiting city
Definitely stay again when in Edinburgh.

Welcome / Location / Breakfast.
The room was a bit small, but we expected that, so it wasn't a detriment.
We found the bed a little hard to our liking, but this is personal choice, and it didn't spoil our stay.
Our room was extremely small, but we made do.
A bit far away from the city centre.
Nothing to complain about!.
The room was a bit small and there was no storage.
