Location, cleanliness, facilities, everything as good as could be hoped for at this price. On-site parking a bonus, but check how to find it first ! Easy walking distance to shops and bars, roadworks are a pain, but they'll be over soon enough. Didn't eat in the hotel, but good choice of local restaurants. That the staff were friendly and the location of the hotel to the olde and new town was excellent. I was also very happy that the staff offered to accommodate us and were very helpful in all aspects.

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel.Working in premises management myself, I couldn't help wonder how on earth I'd escape in case of a fire, as there was only one fire exit, down the main stairs and I was 69 stairs up, on the very top floor. Busy street noise from front windows which also had a slight draught. No mirror in room. Noise of Traffic throughout the night. There was a constant noise throughout the night, possibly by heating or water pipes. Thereis no lift for any rooms in this hotel that is very big disappointing after reaching the hotel(as physically it is different when lwe are there as we already aware there is no lift ) The big nagative was its shower there is no shower mat where there is big hazard as the floor in bathroom is very slippery whith wet foot. needs some updating but it was very clean warm and friendly and staff could not do enough for you will be back. The young stuff was professionel and good, but did not greet.Rooms at the front of the hotel can be noisy with the traffic. Hair dryers, no ice and a very uncomfortable sofa bed.I cannot comment on the rooms there as we were not in a room but in the apartment. No Resturant, bar , or lift in hotel .zip beds could be better but were still good. no lift, had room on top floor. not a real problem untill we got back from the rugby. bedroom a bit chilly, no loo roll. I would have liked an open window for fresh air as the room got very stuffy. There was no access to a laundry facility or service.TV did not work for the duration of the stay. Still after am aware there is no lift its vry hard physically. Shower is too slippery and hazardious as no mat in shower .For mu expectaxiton there should br couple of falls in shower. Room doors can't securely locked. I was dissappointed the bathroom did not have a bath and it was unfortunate that no room service was available. Booked a family room but got a penthouse apartment instead. No lift and we had to carry our heavy luggage all the way up to 3rd floor.room was not cleaned for two days. Only after we complained was the room hoovered, bedsheets and towels changed. Room was very old-fashioned; bed uncomfortable; room was noisy.The catering staff left a lot to be desired. The room was two floors down from ground level and the only window was high up and set back so it could not be opened. Light streamed in under the curtains. There was no hot water on the first night so I endured a cold bath. This was rectified the following day but not until late afternoon. No padded cover for the ironing board - the sheet supplied was totally inadequate.very poor facilities, no hot water, no electricity for 12 hours in 2 rooms and no cutlery , tv damaged. the reason for my trip was a professional qualification examination. I specified this on my arrival. My first room was noisy and had an infestation with bed bugs. I was asked and changed room to a room that was cold and also infested with bed bugs. I will be reporting this to the environmental health agency in Scotland.
