The food was very good and the restaurant staff extremely personable I stay in hotels frequently and I can honestly say that your staff were without exception the most polite, helpful and cheerful that I have come across. The bed was so comfortable I meant to take the name/make so that I could buy the same one for my home. superb facilties, location, service, so much better now it is under new ownership, thoroughly recommended and thats from someone who stays at many many decent hotels in and around the uk, as far as im concerned, there is only one better i have stayed in in the same class and catagory.

Nice view of the river,excellent location for getting around, no need for a car. Everything wasvery clean and tidy, lovely bar and garden area. Location and friendliness of staff. The bathroom shower curtain needed replacing as it was stained. Car parking should be included in the cost, as there is a large car park nearby. But it is a minor point.I thought the charge for breakfast a bit extreme, especially when we would have been content with just a continental breakfast. Access. You have to pay additionally for the car park - £12 per night, which wasn't clear on their info. they missed our welcome cookie!!!. Bed so close to wall it was difficult to draw the curtains!. Inefficiency of the bar staff.A bit expensive. Slight issue with our booking but the hotel offered an alternative and didn't end up being an issue at all. Staff are very attentive and friendly.The fact I had to pay for car parking. Disappointed about choice of meal in evening in Bistro - very limited. Expensive car parking for residents!. Breakfast not very good and overpriced (not included in room price). Shower could do with a bit more oomph!. shower water pressure insufficient, breakfast was very average. Price for breakfast was Extortionate (£13.95 each), so we ate elsewhere. I was a little disappointed that when paying this much for a room, parking wasn't included.Paying for the Hotel car park at £15 expensive (but in line with most hotels in Cambridge). Breakfast self service system does not work as well as it could due to lack of space at serving areas. the brassiere closed too early. The Terrace Bar was disorganised, untidy, incompetent. Our bill for drinks was incorrect. Rooms not available until 1500 (stated in standard conditions).

From the M11/A10/A1:
- Take M11 junction 11 to A1309 Cambridge.
- Go straight over several sets of traffic lights to 2 mini-roundabouts.
- Go straight over both roundabouts to Trumpington Street.
- Follow this road for approximately a quarter of a mile, past the Fitzwilliam Museum.
- Turn left into Mill Lane (just before a sharp bend). This road leads directly to the hotel.

From the A428 (M11 junction 13):
- Take the A1303 Madingley exit.
- Follow signs to Cambridge - ring road.
- Turn right at the mini-roundabout into Queens Road.
- Follow this road and at the roundabout take the first exit onto The Fen Causeway.
- Turn left at Trumpington Road, go through one roundabout and turn left into Mill Lane. This road leads directly to the hotel.

From the A14/A1:
- Take the A1307 to Cambridge.
- Turn right at the traffic lights and head for the ring road, Newnham and the station.
- Turn left at the T- junction and turn right at the mini roundabout into Queens Road.
- Follow this road and turn left into Silver Street at the traffic lights.
- Go over the small bridge and round the sharp bend.
- Take the first right into Mill Lane. This road takes you directly to the hotel.
