The view from top floor!!! The sea at one hand, the blue mosque the other. I had no idea that we were THIS close to the mosque, it was literally across the street. The view was just breathtaking, so surreal. I didn't even care for the poor soundproofing walls or the morning preach that violently woke us up haha (which means how close we were to the mosque). The view is definitely incomparable.
all reviews » Location - The hotel was very close to the Sultanahmet tourist area, with some gift shops, coffee shops and restaurants right next door. The night manager (I think his name was Usman) was a good guide point to various areas and activities. The hotel itself is rather small, just enough room to put your bags and walk to you bed, but it is what you pay for. Small and simple boutique hotel as close to the Blue mosque as you can get a hotel. Stunning views of the mosque one side and good Bosphorus views the other from the small roof top balconies where one takes a simple but quaint breakfast. Lovely helpful staff. Clean rooms with aircon that works. I enjoyed the historical district and the beach. The hotel is pretty much right in the middle of both and yet the room was very quiet, quaint and comfortable. Loved the terrace with view of blue mosque and the Marmara Sea. The staff was exceptional. Amazingly located, Ararat was a very positive surprise for us, especially for its friendly staff, authentic Türk breakfast and its curious rooms! Tešekkur ederim: Osmond, Hatice, Sut and Bariš!. The location, the roof terrace across the street from the magnificent Blue Mosque, the staff, the artwork in the rooms. It was very close to the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. The breakfast on the roof was very nice. its nearness to the heart of tourism sites especially the Blue Mosque. Perfect location for a short stay. Very helpful staff. friendly staff willing to help. Very clean. The Hotel Ararat is in the center of it all. Its literally across the street from the Blue Mosque and has fantastic views of it from the rooftop. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, traditional Turkish items plus a yummy cake made by the owner. Cheap and cheerful and in a great location for the top sightseeing attractions. The poor soundproofing walls (we heard every word the people were saying while having breakfast on the terrace) and the morning preach that violently woke us up at 4 or 5 o'clock (which we couldn't do nothing at all haha). It was actually very funny but you have to prepare for it! ^^. The doors did not completely close, and left a gap of half an inch near the top, I had to block it with a towel to make sure no one would see in. The rooms are quite small, and the hotel itself too which means you can clearly hear you next door neighbor going about their business. Still, if you stay here, most likely than not you will be out most of the time, for which this is perfect. Some of the double rooms are very small and the ensuite even smaller. A small selection of drinks throughout the day/night but no food outside breakfast. I really didn't find any negatives about it. I stayed 3 nights and have no complaints. It would be nice to have a TV set in the room and the shuttle service could cost a bit less; nonetheless, the round way shuttle worked pretty smoothly!. Some rooms are very small. noisy street in the morning because the coaches. The walls were thin.
