Consists of several apartments with shared bathroom & kitchen. The room I was moved to was excellent value for money. All round very clean, quiet (for city) and friendly staff. The area may seem seedy, but the city centre, where hotels cost double, is no better. At least here, you won't have prostitutes approaching you on the same street, as a colleague did who stayed in the expensive area between the train station & university. There's a bus stop for the city centre round the corner wh.
all reviews » What i loved was the amazing breakfast which awaited me in the morning. I also liked the fact that our host sat down with us to open up and explain us things about the city. Finally, i LOVED the neighborhood, as its one of the only ones in zurich which i think still has character and at the same time is affordable. Good for travellers with a smaller budget who want to be in a vibrant neighborhood with bars, restaurants, and nice old school architecture. Susanne is an amicable host and enjoyable conversation partner - besides providing a delicious breakfast with numerous homemade items. The neighborhood location is very good and within easy reach of the city center by bus (literally around the corner) or by a pleasant walk. Having access to an electric kettle and tea was appreciated in the evenings. Bed and breakfast with a friendly, pleasant, and competent staff. The price is very reasonable, with а generous and fresh breakfast. It is located in the city center, with easy access to sightseeing and transport, 15 minutes from Central Station. I enjoyed staying here. It's a charming bed and breakfast and Suzanne is a wonderful host. A good and varied breakfast was provided and all in all I found this to be excellent value for money. The quality and value for money of your stay is highly dependent on which room you are given. I was initially shown to a tiny room out of reach of the wi-fi and noisy from the ground floor restaurant and nearby seedy bar. I was moved to a huge room on the top floor, with a balcony. I was baffled to be shown the lovely shared kitchen, and then be told not to cook anything; in a place as expensive as Zurich, budget travellers will really wish they could. Nothing. Nothing. I wasn't sure if I'd arrived at Dalkini's. I noticed the Italian restaurant at the bottom but didn't see a sign for the b&b. A bit far from the city center but still in walking distance and safe area. nothing. Wireless didn't reach my room. No elevator available. A little small. A bit of a challenge to find. it is hard to locate need a small symbol to see it well. Wifi internet connection crashed once but was restored later. the bar which in front door bad theres nose afther middd night thats it. Location pretty far from train; owner/operator very inflexible - insisted on my designating specific arrival way in advance (which was difficult since I was backpacking for a week prior and was not making specific train reservations - and then told me I was limited to two cups of coffee in the morning with breakfast. The breakfast was certainly not that great either.
