The original room was very nice however the room offered for the last night (which was requested after the booking) was not very nice and we checked out on that day instead of staying. The hotel was nice and didn't charge us. However I think they should have told us that the room wasn't very nice before offering it for the same price as the other room which had a view and was larger. the position was excellent for town centre and lifts - the service at breakfast was excellent .

A gratcentral location also means a fair amount of noise, from thestreet/alley/interior courtyard-parking garage and an old elevator- itappears that Grindelwald has an active (all)-night life!. No toaster at buffet breakfast.Hard to comment on value for money with dollar/franc exchange rate soabysmal... Would suggest providing good detailed map of the area, alwaysgot lost going in and out of bern. Also, could never get a room for 4 inswitzerland, yet when we checked in there were two beds and a set ofbunkbeds in the room.... Were told they were for young children wouldhave been fine for our older kids. A small fridge would have been nice and the room was a bit too small. At first they did not want to honor my request for a room with a view of the Eiger at the price quoted for the room. Due to the location of the hotel, there were not many rooms with a view of the Eiger. I had some problems to reach Grindelwald, due to some snow which close some roads. The hotel staff knew I was coming from Italy, and could have warned me about this issue.
