Nice staff. Hotel in a residential neighborhood near the Madrid airport so not many tourist attractions but gave you a feel for non tourist city life. Metro stop Barajas near by but the streets aren't marked well so it was a bit tough to find by walking from the Metro. Good value though we did get a discounted rate on letsbookhotel.com. Good location for Madrid Airport access. Quick shuttle bus ride, number 101, from airport to town center 1.50 euro per person. Town center has several good café/restaurants and small stores. One block walk to hotel from bus stop. Surprising quite for so near airport. Simple, 5 euro, self serve breakfast was quick and easy.

Helpful staff: loaned us a network cable. Parked on the street this time, but hotel car park is inexpensive. The staff was really friendly, the location is very good for people who wants to stay near the airport (which was my case) because is very easy to get the hotel by taxi or by bus (101 - for 1,5€). The room was very clean and confortable. I really recomend this hotel!. I liked that the hotel is on a bus route to the airport. I very much liked that there are shops, restaurants and supermarkets all around. I enjoyed walking around Barajas and feeling safe. The guy on reception was a gem and wery helpful. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, specifically helped me print my boarding pass, told me the best way to get to the airport and where to find local restaurants. The hotel staff were very helpful at arranging early morning departure. Wake up calls, taxi arrangements to airport were all done in a friendly and efficient way. We chosed Hotel Don Luis because our flight. We were arrived at later evening in Madrid. It would inconvenient to look around the city for the hotel in middle night, especially first visiting Madrid, so we chosed it to stay a night. Staff friendly and professional, room clean, position very close to madrid airport, perfect if you have a plane early in the morning. This hotel was affordable and is fairly good value for probaby its main purpose, a place to rest between flights. Close to the airport but only OK to walk by feet during daytime. At night it is still necessary to call for taxi. A little hard to find due to poorly marked streets but it is prominent once you find the street. Breakfast was okay but overpriced at five euros but at least it was an option. There were coder shops a couple blocks away as alternatives. Really very minor things: No toiletries, surprising as many guests are probably en route to/from the airport. A lot of the breakfast food was in plastic packages: OK but uninspiring. Didn't have a restaurant, although there is a couple of restaurants near the hotel. No nmegatives for this hotel. I couldn't figure out how to turn the tv on. Nothing. N/A. One could say it is a little noisy place as its windows are located near street, but it is a small bear compared to the city centre :). Carpeted rooms. they are terrible in Summer. And the air conditioning system of the original room we were given didn't work properly so the room was very hot. nothing :-). breakfast was very very poor! and room needs to be update TV, no canals in english. Breakfast is very poor, no hot meal at all except coffee/tea. No internet at room. They gave it to me cable, but I was not able to connect anyway. We were locked in the garage with no way out as the doors did not open and no one answered the buzzer. We had to phone them yo get out. This is a definite fire trap with no way to escape. The staff were most apologetic but the fact remains we were unable to get out. Air conditioning was not sufficient for Madrid summer. 40 minutes with metro to city center. It was a bit hard to get there using public transportation. no Wifi avalable from the 1st floor of the building. A little noisy from other guests, slamming doors which echo'ed around the building. Little outdated but good value for the money. quite a long walk from the mero station. unfortunately they were unable to give me a nonsmoking room as requested when I booked the room. staff was very apologetic. Would have enjoyed more fresh fruit and produce for breakfast. I left a huge pile of plastic after I had eaten and unwrapped my meal. Could be better. Breakfast was poor by our standards. Some noise from other rooms which although noticeable was not a problem. Better value was available, in terms of comfort, room features and styling at the nearby Clement Barajas, which I chose to stay at on my return visit. wi-fi only in lobby area not in room. Girl who works at morning was rude and argue without checking facts, the access to/from the parking is from the outside even that they have internal stairs. There are no cams, so they cannot see you from the front desk to open the garage door and you need every time to call them through an intercom, they say they not hear, excuses... the room was very small. The room was very non-descript and a bit old-looking, but I suppose appropriate for the price. This is not really a place for a longer stay. Beware that taxis will not be keen to take you from the airport as it is so near - they prefer longer journies (earning more obviously). Taxi rates seem to be higher than average (19 euro to the airport, 5 minutes ride). Perhaps they share the extra revenue with hotel staff.
