all reviews » The location is fantastic, you can walk outside, cross a small road and walk into a market! The metro is 5/10 minutes walk away and there is loads of places to eat. The staff are lovely, carried my bags for me and couldnt help you enough. The price is great for what you get! this was my 3rd stay in this hostel and I spoke to others staying in other hostels paying more and they wernt anywhere near as good!. - Hotel is perfectly located - less than one minute walk from Plaza Mayor and 5 minutes from Palace Royal, - rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable, wifi is very fast - perfect, - rooms are extremly cheap - 20 euros for single room in this standard? Wow! - there are 3 bedrooms for 7 rooms (5 double, 2 single), so you dont have to wait to take a shower, - staff is very helpful and nice. I loved how it was so central. But not only that.. The woman at the front desk was so warm and welcoming. The room we ordered was so clean and comfortable and for such a good price too. Basically I will be coming back here for sure, like any hotel or hostel there are things you think could be better but this is by far the best I have been in. Hostal La Casa de La Plaza has one of the most convenient location in Madrid. It is next to Mercado de San Miquel, very close to Plaza Mayor and 5 minutes walk to Sol. If you don’t look for luxury but perfect central location for reasonable price it is definitely the best place to stay. The staff was incredible, so helpful, so kind. They helped us carry all of our heavy luggage, called cabs for us, and were so accommodating!! This is definitely the best hostel I've stayed at in Mdrid, possibly europe. Such a great value!!. There is a wonderful indoor market right at your front doorstep. This hostal was within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go, really great location! Our bed was very comfy and had great pillows which was awesome!. The bathrooms are decent! Plenty of them, hot water, look nice and unlike some hostels they are not communal! Location only. - The team doesn't speak french, (but they speak english) - There is no rooms with shower included, but with the small price you pay, it's normal. - There is no spot to meet people, like a cybercoffee / bar like in most youth hostels, but Madrid is THE place for party and meeting people, so don't worry anyway. I don't see much more to say !. Could be noisy but thats not the hostels fault, thats inconsiderate guests shouting and slamming doors!. There is nothing I didn't like. Sometimes it was noisy outside in the morning that kept me awake but I picked this hostel for its location and therefore I believe I knew there would be noise. I brought a towel with me as I noticed online they said they didn't have them there but come on, no towel isn't exactly the end of the world. There wasn't anything in this hostel that I didn't like. Just things you would expect. We had no air conditioning or ceiling fan. No cooking facilities (not even a jug) so it hiked our expenses up having to get a morning cup of tea in a café everyday. Take ear plugs. There is no kitchen to cook, or at least a kettle. For budget place there are no complains. They were repairing the cobblestone streets to the side and it was a little rough to wake up to. A bit noisy due to people speaking very early but no problem. A bit noisy (I could hear people coming home all night in the central hallway). At night there is a lot of noise from the outside. Nothing. My room was nothing like the photo on the web page. Small space. Anyway, It worth the money. Decoration, needs brigten up a bit, too much brown. wifi a bit poor in the room. room was little bit small and no air-condition system, only fan... should be very hot in summer. lack of airconditioning. Room was above a bar restaurant and it was extremely noisy with banging, clanging and loud singing all night and throughout the day. I could not sleep and had to go to another hotel my last night to get a good night's sleep. It is a bit durty. The maintenance of the facilities is poor. It is bit noisy. I was there 2 years ago and dicided to repeat but clean and shiny rooms were gone. They charge 1 euro for a towel!.
