The staff was very kind and helpful, and the hostel has an excellent location in the center, just next to Plaza Mayor, 5 minutes from Palacio Real and in front of the hostel there is the market San Miguel which has one of the best offer of foods.

Very friendly front desk girl - Ozlem, def. helpful. All stuff is nice. Excellent location, very clean, no problems with bathroom access. Probably the best you can get in this location for the price.
The location is great, typical Madrid house just around the corner of
Plaza Mayor. The reception welcomed us even at 1.30am. Room is very
basic, but the bathrooms are renovated and very nice.
The location of the Hostel Abaaly is great. It was clean and there are just a few rooms using shared bathrooms. It has a free WiFi. It's a perfect place to stay you're low budget traveler.

Don't expect something fancy, very basic rooms (old), no any kind of noise isolation. There is no noise from street, but you will hear everything around your room.
We liked everything; you should just be aware it is very basic and meant
for a sleepover in the city, not for demanding turists.

The wine shops nearby are throwing glasses and bottles till 2 am, so it was very noisy. In one of the bathrooms the shower stand was broken.

After traveling around Spain for three weeks and never getting lost, we were baffled by this location. The sign is up on the second story in tiny blue and white and there are 2 of the same address on the Plaza! Our room was next to the stairwell which creaked all night loud enough to blast through the earplugs. Our room was filled with cigarette smoke until 3:00am from the room next door to the point of making my eyes water!.
