The location is superb, just off La Ramblas. The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and able to answer any questions we had. The rooms are simple but spotlessly clean. We were at the front of the hotel, so we had a small balcony overlooking the street. There is a lift, essential for people like me who have difficulty with stairs. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel this year, and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.
all reviews » Hotel Condal is located in the heart of the La Rambla. It is so convenient to walk 30m and then to enter the La Rambla. The many restaurants, shops and attractions in close proximity of the hotel is a bonus. The reception of the hotel is very helpful, knowledgeable,efficient and available 24hr. Thank you for a great stay from 23 to 27 April '13. Very clean, comfortable well situated little hotel which was above my expectation. For a 2 star it was a properly run little establishment and the front desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would say you have to ask them for help, then they are as helpful as can be, they won't just offer advice/guidance. I loved the closeness to La Rambla and Metro which where only a couple of minutes walk. The street was quaint and decorated ready for Christmas lights. The staff where very pleasant and the room basic, clean and comfortable. Location Location Location. Staff was fair and helpful in adjusting the bill because of a hot water failure during our stay. The hotel is centrally located with a 15 minute walk to the beach and the metro a few minutes walk away. Quiet and in a great location off La Rambla and across from the Boqueria. Simple, practical and relatively affordable for Barcelona. Actually, this is my fourth visit to Barcelona. I really found this hotel the best compared to the others at the same cost. The hotel was in a great spot to explore the city by foot, or to use public transport. It was clean and comfortable. The room and bathroom were both spacious. Clean. Ideal location as we were only in town for several days making key destinations easily accessible. Also Liceu Metro was literally a few steps away again making it easy to access other areas outside El Gotica . Hotel Condal is in the heart of the old city and within minutes of the major sights in the Barri Gothic. It's pretty plain but not tacky. A well-priced bed for a short stay. Location was good. Very close to the Metro and Gothic Centre etc. Actually not far from all the tourist sites. Reception staff was very good. Nothing really. Actually nothing, I would stay there again and would advise others to do so depending on their type of trip as hotel is in very busy area. Not the best for peace and quite but my room was off the main street so was actually quite peaceful!. If you stay perhaps earplugs would be wise as it is quite noisy however, this is to be expected due to location. We had an extremely noisy room facing the street due cheers Brittish pub next door. Their live music starts at midnight and anyone who smokes, goes outside the bar ... right below our room's balcony. They are sloshed and loud loud loud. Maybe a room off the street would be less noisy. Our solution was a white noise app for the Kindle Fire that helped to drown out the bellowing enough to sleep. We do not find anything unpleasant in this hotel. The wifi was weak at 5th floor and if it was connected, it was pretty slow. Lobby is the most reliable one. The wall was so thick, I even can hear what the people said from the other room. Unfortunately location, because at nigth there are a lot of criminals on the street. They are looking for tourists and tries to steal belongings. Be careful. Bath was very high to get in and out of. Based on previous comments from letsbookhotel.com that the only problem is the noise, our special request during the reservation was to have a room far from noise and thus we had nothing to complain from. Barcelona on a whole was very expensive.....we were overcharged on a number os occasions. The inner walls are thin. the bathroom was without window nor ventilation fan. The room was a bit noisy during the night because front Street. A bit noisy through the night. There was water leakage in the bathroom. Lack of included breakfast, poor amenities. there is no minibar! there lacks of a shelf or small cupboard in the bathroom the television is old, small and very high. There is no hair dryer in the room. bit noisy, especially clock ringing every 15 minutes. The room is a little small. Thin walls. Noisy neighbours could be heard through thin walls throughout the night. Nothing. It may be VERY noisy, non-stop noisy at night, outside in inside of the hotel at weekend. During the week noise level is OK. No breakfast at the hotel is provided. But plenty of brilliant possibilities to eat outside. Noisy, it is not hotel's fault, but people in that street don't sleep all night. Had a front room and the street noise was constant until about 0300. Even with windows closed and the outside metal window protectors down, the noise miserable. They need to install sound proof windows on the street sides. The elevator broke so we have to use stairs and we are with my mom and uncle, both with 70 years. Breakfast not too good. No hairdryer. N/A. Parking expensive and little far from the hotel. all good. The noise coming from the street below. a bit noise because of being close to central street. The Wi-Fi connection would drop out every now and then. It's noisy, of course, being so close to La Rambla. An afternoon siesta is impossible but it did quiet down late evening and overnight. It was very noisy at night. Window glazing was not good.
