The staff are extremely friendly, always smiling and willing to help, the rooms were cleaned every day, they made us feel very welcome and clearly made an effort for us to be comfortable. They even wrote us a happy anniversary card and got us a bottle of champagne! They provide you with wifi, towels, a tv. I would fully recommend Hostel Palermo to anyone visiting Barcelona who's is looking for cheap accommodation, with basic amenities and a roof over their heads, which is in a excellent locatio.
all reviews » Great Value, Excellent location 100 yds, in a Lane from The Rambla, very clean with fresh paint, and a good size bedroom and bathroom, also fridge, staff were helpful. We were happy with it, as not expensive and we only slept there really . We were busy out and about, really felt we were part of the neighborhood,. In the City centre, literally on the ramblas. Room for me and my girlfriend was ok. More than a hotel I'd say is a posh hostel. Bathroom in room with amazing shower. Very clean and quiet. The perfect choise!. I loved how near to center of the town the hotel is located in. I found it quickly even without the map. I also liked it has 24 hours open reception and you can go in and out, no questions asked. Really great location, clean basic rooms - but perfect for a budget weekend stay. Would definitely recommend. Very central, very close to Las Ramblas & all the shops. I only liked the location.....which is exactly at the center of La Ramblas. Near Las Ramblas. There was a cockroach in the corridor. Could have been slightly cheaper as it is a hostel, not exactly brand-spanking new tip top condition, but as I said before - I would recommend it and come back to it. Old narrow stairs staff helpful though, old plumbing bit of a problem, would love a kettle in the room though. Nothing really. The noise in the street at night from persons leaving nearby pubs. Can be a little noisy as you could hear all the noise around . I think to describe this as a hotel is incorrect this really is more on the lines of a hostel. I woke up with 9 bites on me that I got in the night, although I'm unable to tell whether from mosquitoes or something in the room, which was not pleasant under the beds. There is a very loud clock bell that rings at least once an hour, sometimes at 45 minutes past too. The breakfast we paid extra for was two slices of toast and a crossaint. Sat for half an hour before realising nothing else was coming!. Room was incredibly tiny and bathroom tiny too; not a room where you could just relax and spend time.....then again, the life is in the street just outside!. The lights did not work late in the evening when we arrived, could not be fixed in the night, but next day it was fixed tho. You can choose for either a room with balcony or with airconditioning, not both. Take airco!!. 3rd floor toilet room almost two small to sit down and shut the door. Also the water pressure to refill toilet was so slow it took 20 minutes for a second flush. It isn't really a Hotel, it is a Hostel. The staff were rude, especially the woman who checked us in. We asked to see the room before we signed any credit card statements, and she refused, saying we'd already seen it online. I asked if we could cancel our booking then, and she said no as well. We ended up staying because we were too tired to fight. If this had been the begining of our trip, we wouldn't have stayed. It was generally below our expectations. The title was "hotel" when it was actually a "hostel". The room rate was overpriced, especially since we stayed in a 4 star hotel the following night for exactly the same rate. Better to add a few euros to your trip in stay in a real "HOTEL". Shared bathroom was the only downside. The rooms were nothing like they looked like in the picture. Even the attached bathrooms did not have a door lock...how pathetic. There is no elevator, so if you are planning a long stay and have lots of luggage...never go there. Honestly I didnt like any thing about the rooms. It is a Hostel not a Hotel. This is not a hotel but a hostel. It was way over priced compared to what other quests paid. Very disappointed. no aircon inside the room.very hot.
