The hotel is small, clean, and somewhat charming. The staff is eager to accommodate and will help however they can! It was great having a bar/restaurant in the hotel with a wonderful bar staff and great selection of beer, wine, and liquor. One night of our stay, there was an older gentleman tending the bar who didn't speak English, but was very happy to engage us, anyway. He did his best to try to converse with us, make us laugh, and he gave us incredible service with such pride, I will remembe.
all reviews » Th things that I'd love about Film Hotel; the design of the rooms are so good, of course the idea is wonderful, there is a bathtub in the room, good lightning, cheap mini bar, cousy cafe. I stayed at the room Marilyn Monroe for 2 nights. I think It is a special hotel in letsbookhotel.com. Besides, the girl in the reception, Barbora, was so helpful,so positive always smiles, and can speak english very good and fluently. Thank you Barbora, thank you Film Hotel.You made my days in Bratislava amazi. The staff (especially Michael) were superb- very helpful and able to solve any travel issues we had very easily, All in all a very enjoyable stay. Michael evebn swapped our room on our 2nd night to accomodate a bath which was really great, and whilst we had no bath plug (which we didn't realise until the night of our 1st stay in Room1, that was a minor glitch for a most wonderful stay. It is about 15 minute walk to train stattion and about 10 minute walk to the old town so a good central location. It is near shops, bars, restaurants but the street is quiet at night. You can have breakfast in the cafe downstairs. There was wifi in the rooms and public areas and I managed to get a couple of tv channels in English! Clean rooms, nice bathroom, simple but comfortable. The location is perfect, right beside a well known shopping street, very near the sights and attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was big and spacious, it was an attic room, very quiet and private. I stayed there in Autumn, when the nights get chilly, but the room was nicely heated. The hotel is well located (off a busy street, 10 minute walk from the Palace and the historical centre). The staff is very nice, the girl at reception was very helpful! Rooms are comfortable and the bathroom was one of the best I have seen (especially if you consider the price). Hotel is clean and staff are kind and speak very fluently English. Rooms looks fine, bed was comfortable, bathroom is clean and looks renewed. It's near to downtown and historical places and also near to pubs and disco for people who likes night life. The shower cabin is spacious enough for two people, and the bed is indeed queen size, not two twin beds next to each other. Courtyard view is quiet enough. The historic part is just few minutes walk or, for lazy exporers, 1 stop by tram. The Marilyn Monroe and Bridget Bardot rooms were and are the best in the Hotel. The two Ladies at the reception were very nice and helpful. I really liked the way the Hotel is made with the Hollywood style rooms and theme of the Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. They gave us better double room on request without extra charge. Nice design, several parking places in front of the hotel (recommend reserve in advance). 5 min walk from the city center (old town). The staff were so friendly and helpful. Could not ask for a better service. However, the street was a bit difficult to find at night as I walked from the station to the city centre. My advice is get a good map or take a taxi. very cute hotel with big room and bathroom...easy to reach it with the tram...free wi-fi(not so good signal in the room).very warm room which is a plus for Bratislava in the cold days.very nice bar inside hotel... Film hotel offered Penzion Virgo, which higher price than its price, due to its technical problem. I am totally happy with their plan B. Next time, I would like to stay at Film hotel. I hated the idea of separate blankets. Reception is not 24 hours...only from 8am to midnight. Nothing really to say. Maybe the fridge was too small and didn't cold a lot. The entrance is smokers area, so you need to go through the smell. The living area is okay, though. The hotel has only one parking place, so collisions are possible. The receptionist did his best to provide an alternative parking in 10 minutes walk, though. Mini Bar fridge in both rooms did not work. Card Key at the front door did not work very well. There is no breakfast buffet. Street signs not very clear in the area. no reception from 00.00 till 08.00. nothing to complain. The walls are very thin you can easily hear people's from other room... the wireless did not work in my bedroom. There's no lift and I stayed at 3rd floor, so i need to carry the luggage by myself :(. No problems at all. Nothing particular. The lighting around the stairs were a bit dodgy. pillow too thick, but everyone likes something different. Can't think of anything in particular. There was no wifi in the hostel. And we were in the first floor, but in the basement there was a bar or something like that, and we heard the noise. Because of the huge tv in front of the only window in my room, i climb over a chair to open the window. And i can open it a little. Why a very huge tv in such a small room ?. No lift, while the building was not particularly old Also, was expecting some more interesting film inspired decor-not just a poster of an actor!. The room needs a bit of a revamp. The carpets need renewing. That pale green was never a good choice for a hotel. It shows all marks and does not clean well. Breakfast was second rate and should be avoided. i wish they should tell people, even if it is late, that is definitely go out only to the old city and not on the main road, which we found un interesting. Bathroom could be cleaner, some minimal mold in the corners. Bed and sleeping area were very clean though. room was smelling cigarette. I've stayed here a few times and have been happy,but this last time ,no TV,bedside lamps not working and a noisy air-con unit that just looked like a washing machine dumped in the room...feel like it a luck of the draw here (like most hotels in bratislava) for a room without problems..2 Months ago I would have recommended this hotel :(. A bit old. Double room was big and comfortble family room in 3rd floor (no lift) is actualt 2 small room with bathroom in tne hall. can hear people walking up and downthe wooden stairs outside my room, cafe on site was a bit quite expensive compared to price of room, they offer you a 10% discount on breakfast at le petit cafe (whihc also has a hostel) further away, as soon as I booked they emailed me to aks if i wanted a pick up service from the airport but I think a taxi would have been cheaper. There were squeaky wooden stairs in the main corridor. It was not very comfortable during the night. Not well organized for breakfast. room was located at front of hotel and there was noise from groups of drunk people passing through out the night and early hours. Room smelt a little damp. Nothing.
