Good location, close to everything-- walkable from the train station and close to the old town and many other sights, with tram stops nearby as well. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hostel itself seems very new and was extremely clean, good bunk beds in the dorms. It was very quiet and laid back when I stayed-- which I prefer, but if you're looking for a party atmosphere it might not be the best choice.
all reviews » It's perfect! Right in front of h&m and other shops. Cafe on the side, kebab across the street, near the old town. It's one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. It could've been the highlight of my trip to Bratislava. it felt like home with free food and drinks in the kitchen 24/7, wii in the common room, super nice staffs. Very new and clean. thank you so much Igor for all the help and kindness. :). We enjoyed our stay at Hostel Mansard. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I had my purse and credit card stolen and they helped me to phone and have it cancelled. Helpful in getting our luggage to our room and to ground level before leaving. Breakfast was good. It is well positioned near the old city and castle. The personnel was friendly and Egor helped us with our baggage. Though we came a little bit earlier than the check in time our room was ready. The hostel was situated in a very good place, near Mc donalds and other shopping stores. The room was comfortable and tidy. The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. We needed a cheap place to crash in for one night and the hostel was a great choice. Centrally located, very clean, recently renovated. Loved the wii in the comms room. It definitely exceeded our expectations :). I mentioned how our family enjoyed our stay at Mansard Hostel. I also mentioned in my previous review that they were so kind to help me when my purse was stolen. Ii wanted to add that it was stolen in McDonalds not at the hostel. Hostel is located on the top floor of its building-- only three flights of stairs I think, but if you have mobility issues or heavy bags it might be something to consider. Nothing. All praises for this hostel!. Parking for my brother in law was a bit of a problem but we managed to overcome it. There were no towels and the shower didn't work well. The room tended to get a bit hot during a hot day but opening the attic windows sorted it out very quickly. They also told us there is a plan to install air-con during the summer. On the third floor of the building, so not so fun with stuff. But from the train it was all down hill or flat. The staff said they would help me carry my stuff, but I was ok. Also take the bus from the train to old town, it cuts out a lot of the walking. And it's only 70 cents. - a bit noisy during night because of people, however since I stayed only one night, it wasn't such a big concern. I think that for those staying more nights listening to people always slamming doors and talk loud might be an issue -no toilet paper in the morning. I would say the only problem are the rooms facing the reception area, for lack of privacy. But that's all. Little bit noisy. We were lucky not to be heading Obchodna ulica but instead we were in front of another building with many italians talking at all time. Little bit cold in the room. Maybe little bit expensive for what is it. Noisy roomates but isn't hostels' fault, and the street in the night is a little noisy. Entrance door is not under their lighted sign, so a bit of searching needed to find the way in. Then carry baggage up two flights of stairs to reception. No air-conditioners. You may feel hot during in the room. The beds were warm and comfortable but would have been better with more pillows. Curtains are really thin, so the sun wakes you up really early, and no air conditioning. It was a bit difficult to find the entrance at first. The central heating worked too well. You won't get cold!. A little bit difficult to find at night!. The shower is worst! The water is cool for bath. And the shower is with sensor, so you have to touch it time to time.....besides, you can't control the temperature of the water! I don't like it!!!. It was very hot when I stayed there, so no air-conditioner and no curtain in my room is really a disadvantage, although the staff had lent me an electric fan, I still couldn't sleep well... Some noise from the street during the day, but nothing major. The showers ave standard temperature water so if you want to take a cold shower you can't. Showers are with sensors and if you are not attentive you might end up wet after have dried yourself. No so much space to put your staff in the shower. I did not receive linen or towel, but I had mine with me. Only there was not air condition. stuffy in the day, poor ventilation, small toilet. We suppose to have private bathroom, we had it but it was not in our room, we had to leave the room to go to our own private bathroom to use toilet or to have shower. wifi was very slow, and the shower stops from time to time... it was awfully dirty in the shower and smelled like they never cleaned it!.
