The clean bedrooms and modern shower.The breakfast was excellent agreat range plus Hot scrambled eggs if required.The staff extreemly helpful.The central location of this hotel makes it an ideal place for exploring the town and so close to the rail.As we travel in Europe 6 months every year, found this to be one of the many we have. experienceed. This is my second stay in the hotel and would recommend it for its central location, its atmosphere and its great breakfast. A must in Krakow!.

Good breakfast.Central position and historic building. I've stayed at the Hotel Polonia 4 times since 1999. It is convenient to Old Town,the new mall, and the train station. All the interesting sites of Old Town are within walking distanse. The front desk staff is helpful. The free internet is a little slow. Make sure to ask for a back room because the front rooms are on a busy street. I will stay there again if I return to Poland. Excellent shower, good service, nice view from bedroom, location first class - railway station, shopping mall, Barbican gateway all within 200 meters. close to the centre, bus and railway station, nice looking exterior and interior - atmosphere of old times from last century. The location and service.. hotel was clean comfortable and very central. Everything apart from no printer adjacent to guests use computer. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel initially gave me a room that smelt very badly of smoke - despite the fact I had asked for a non-smoking one. However, when I asked to move there was no problem - in fact they gave me a double room for the same price as the single I had booked. Some might find it basic, quaint and old fashioned but it was spotless, with very friendly staff, in an excellent location, and it was excellent value for money - in summary an excellent place from which to enjoy Krakow. continental breakfast was excellent, room was very large and comfortable, and location was ideal. The water was not always hot and the shower had very little pressure - but I guess we're so used to power showers!. Would like to have had tea and coffee facitilies in the room. no fridge or mini bar in the room. They didnt change the towels at all. Only they do it if you ask for. The first day they didnt even done my room. the second day was the same but after I complaint they done straight away. But still I would recommend it. I would like to have a non-smoking room.The price is a little excessive. old windows in the rooms and according to that loadly at night. The mattresses and pillows were not comfortable. The only slight moan I would have is that the beds weren't the comfiest.Lots of traffic noise in the early morning-but unavoidable. A little dark but to be fair that lent atmosphere which was partly why we booked it.the noise but you expect that in a city centre. We booked in Euros rate and they charge us in Polish Zlotys because they dont make the charge to credit card in Euros, so the exchange rate differed a little bit.no wifi system when required although free access to a terminal was available, light through curtains from street lighting right ouside window could be a problem for some, old style windows may be a problem if ventilation of room is required in warm weather. no power point at dresser area which doubles up as a desk if require. Overdue a refurb of rooms which is not reflected on price comparisons. The beds were very soft.breakfast very poor no fruit or yogurts cereals soft. The beds (matresses) are very old.very stuffy in rooms but very noisy from trams so unable to open window. No bar open for us to have a drink before going out. facilities were adequate and commensurate with price paid. No hot water for shower. Breakfast could have been better, no fruit or yogurts and we were not informed that cooked breakfasts were available so did not avail ourselves of these until the last day.

Information about the area

Wieliczka (18 km) - This 800 year old salt mine is one of the oldest salt mines still in operation. The mine has a 3.5 km tourist route that includes statues of historical and mythical figures, all sculpted by miners out of the rock salt. Even the crystals in the chandeliers are made of salt. Also featured are beautifully carved chambers, chapels, an underground lake, and exhibits that illustrate the fascinating history of salt mining.
