Location was totally fantastic for anyone having to catch an early morning train/bus like me - it's right beside the rail and bus station. Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful, efficient. The room was one of the best designed I have ever seen in a hotel, and had everything one could possibly need. I also really appreciated their strong environmental policy - and the fact that the minibar was stocked Hansa, the fantastic - and expensive - Norwegian beer, as well as other things. Norway is.
all reviews » Central location close to the station for early departure via airport express train. Within walking distance of pedestrian street and restaurants. Public transport to port area right outside, as well as using the metro. Staff helpful in printing boarding passes. Included breakfast at the Egon restaurant across from the hotel was an adventure in navigation. Once there food presented had variety for all. The personel was good,helpful.The location is very nice.At the right side of the train station.So it's easy to reach to the hotel and to the airport.And there is a main street at the front side of the hotel.Breakfast was at the restaurant of the hotel.It was a rich breakfast.The hotel is located at the shopping mall.There are so many restaurants,cafes,shops at the shopping mall. The breakfast is also superb and although there is no gym in the hotel, you can use a nearby gym/fitness center with great facilities and equipment.The hotel was central for all our requirements for the weekend. Exactly next to Oslo central station and city centre. Breakfast was good as well with exception of the burnt bacon every single day... The hotel is conveniently located adjacent to Oslo Central Station and a mall. Staff was courteous; accommodations were basic. The room was rather cold (February in Norway) with no means of adjusting the temperature. The breakfast in a nearby restaurant was rahter a scrum. Our only gripes are that the phone in our room was dirty and the coffee in the lobby was not free. However, these are minor points. No facility to make a hot drink in our room or elsewhere. I have to take medication which have a side effect of fatigue, so a regular drink of coffee is important for me. I carry my own Swiss filter which can make a good cup with just added hot water. The hotel's location makes it a bit noisy at night. Like everything in Norway, the restaurant next door is expensive. The room was a little too small only room for one case. It was impossible to regulate the heat and I had to borrow an electrical heater. For me it was a great disadvantage. Hard to find the entrance inside the shopping center. Parking is very expensive and was 295 nok instead of 235 nok as was indicated on the hotel's site ( they corrected the price thereafter). the room was too hot maybe due to the position. Breakfast is a bit of a lottery. You are not sure if a table is occupied if the person goes back to get some more food. maybe have a flag on a table that people can use to show if the seat is occupied or not. Old style tele in room. nothing. I asked for a wake-up call which came 20 min late. Not good. Crowded breakfast. Difficult to find and navigate. Staff need to be more informative on tours and trains and buses etc. towels like in budget hostel :(. Was cold in room. Despite the fact that the room was spacious the furniture inside was less than basic especially the so called wardrobe. I went for a 4 day business Trip and there was not enough space to hang 3 shirts and two suits... No luggage furniture even though the room had enough space for an airplane to be landed... Also I asked for a double bed and instead I got two single beds which none bothered to joint into one. No proper ventilation in the room, noizy from the street, very old TV-set in the room, telephone set in the room in a very terrible condition - it seems that nobody is looking after that, poor quality of internet. Rooms are a bit small. But this is typical in Oslo, everything is expensive!. 1) price ~£220 for 1 nite is not competitive and if not on business I would definately look elsewhere. 2) breakfast room was busy, and layout force me to leave belongings at table around a corner, out of sight when selecting food. Just felt a little vulnerbale leaving personal items out of sight. My table felt a bit dark and dingy. I would recommend alternative venue for breakfast. Room is small and air conditioning is weak or say no air conditioning. Poor staff service of breakfast restaurant named Egon, we arrived at 9:50am for breakfast but closing time is 10am. The waitresses did not tell us the time of close and rapidly receive all the food "Even" we request to hold a minute for we get the food. It is totally unacceptable and without sympathy and humanity.
