For the expensive Oslo accommodation this hotel is really bargain, with excellent service for the price provided. Bathroom adjustable heated floor,speedy wifi.comfy beds, adjustable heating and two mac pc in the lobby for internet access including the 24/07 free tea-coffee in the lobby concludes everything. Walkable to central railway and bus stations and with a square in the left of the hotel where you can find everything from supermarket(7 eleven with ATM inside!!!), fish snacks and soups sto.
all reviews » From walking into the lobby and listening to the rock and roll music combined with a lobby looking like no other, I knew my days in Oslo were going to be special. I enjoyed the technology of opening the hotel room and elevator operation to staying in the room watching HDmt. Having the free coffee downstairs along with the pinball machines and iMacs were a great bonus to the hotel experience. And lastly I especially liked the drink selection and prices. Unlike most hotels Comfort Express kep. There were many Halal Shops, Oslo City, Bypoten Shopping Centre,supermarket, Asian supermarket and pharmacy nearby. It is easy to reach. Self service check-in is easy and there is always someone to help you if you cant diy. Oslo is expensive and for budget travellers like us to be able to get a clean and comfortable bed in the city this was the best choice. Rooms are small but cosy. For a double room you get an armchair, a cute little table, a drop down table which we kept closed so that we hav. Excellent value for money in very expensive Oslo. It is not hostel it is good hotel with a bit small but comfortable bed, very clean and new shower with good working facilities. One of the best things in hotel is basement area with microwaves, a kind of refrigirator and free tea and coffe. With the absolutely crazy prices in restaurants and caffe shops in Norway this kitchen together with supermarker near the hotel make stay in Oslo much better. WiFi in the room works rather fast, can watch vid. This was the second time we stayed here during our stay 2 week stay in Norway. The first time we were at the front of the hotel where the street was noisy all through the night (Saturday night was worse with a club open until 3am!). This time we requested a room away from the road and were given one - much quieter and we could open the window as very hot in the room. Location is 5 mins away from the main area and the room cost much better than average hotel prices in Oslo. Main train station. It is a little pricey, but not for Oslo, where everything is so absurdly expensive. The rooms are kind of like design hotels, with nice and modern furniture. Staff is friendly and the reception is really cool, with coffee and tea free 24/7 and several other stuff (snacks, drinks) you can purchase. There are also games like pinball and foosball. Location is great, with many bars and restaurants a walking distance, in a very young neighborhood of Oslo. Tip: Go to Mathallen, a new market just dow. With its youthful attitude (young employees, rock music playing in the reception area where you'll also find three old-school pin-ball machines) and budget-friendly price level, this hotel attracts young people. Nevertheless, the room was quiet (I stayed there on a Monday and at the top floor, though). Though tiny, the standard single room was impeccably clean and contained the essentials. Free coffee at the reception. Excellent WiFi connection. I really liked that hotel is situated in the city centre - very convenient. Also it was great to have a free cup of coffee/tea in the hall - saved a lot of time! The design of the hotel is very unusually - everyday find something new in it. Also you can use free wifi in the room and free Internet in the hall - very handy. This is the only hotel, which is situated in the city centre and has normal low European prices for stay - really recommend it!. Very good position. The city center and the railway station is in walking distance. Brugata tram (12 to Vigeland park,17) station is also 3 minutes walk. In Norway it is a good hotel price. KIWI supermarket is 300 meters towards Nord, and in opposite is a good kebab shop. Free coffee and tea in the lobby is very friendly. Common fridge and microwave oven on the meeting room. Check-in and check-out are very fast. A great value for money. The hotel is brand new so the bathroom is very modern and clean and the rest of the room is also simple and clean. It's less than a 10 minute walk from the main train station and about a 10 minute walk or less to all other parts of the city so it is perfectly placed! The staff were really, really friendly and very helpful and the free internet was great :) Would stay here again!. Having read other travellers' comments about the hotel, I knew what to expect and in fact was pleasantly surprised. I wanted somewhere reasonably priced (a challenge in Oslo!) and well located, and that's what I got. I found the place quite funky, the room was a good size, quiet and practical with well-placed sockets for charging phones and laptop. Bathroom functional. Wifi extremely good. Amazing location - close to the best bars in the city and also very close to downtown, main shopping area and close to the train station. Saves you a lot of money on transportation! I loved the design of the hotel, especially the lobby, very urban and hip, even has game consoles, we loved it. Very clean too - I'm very picky about these things, but this hotel got my vote. Room 1001 has a kind of "balcony" (it's a roof actually) and 3 wide windows, the room is quite as it's too high to hear noise from pubs on the street. Early check-in is possible, but costs 100 NOK. We stayed at Comfort Xpress in Oslo twice in the last few days - once while touring Oslo and then on the way back to Copenhagen from Bergen. Carpets need better cleaning but this is minor comparing to all others!. If there were some crackers for sale, that would be great. No minibar in the room, uncomfortable card system in the lift. Hot room but with window open and no noise at the back, this was okay. The downside of it being a quasi-design hotel is that some things are not functional, ex: the shower, which kept falling during our bath. Also, the room was clean when we arrived, but the soap in the shower ended in the 2nd day - cleaning only happens within 4 days (otherwise, you pay extra for it), so we had to use the soap in the bathroom for taking shower. There's no work desk in the tiny standard single room. Breakfast is not included, which is a bit silly. It can be bought for NOK 85, which is about the same price you'll pay at a cafe in Oslo. The thing I didn't like that the room did not have any wardrobe and the room itself was very small. Also room was heating too much that we needed to open window several timer per night! And you cannot control it - heat controller does not give any effect. Breakfast is not in the price and the offer is very artificial. Room is small, but in this prise it is good with a shower. There are not chair and wardrobe in the room :-( . The double bed is too soft. We had a room right by the elevator so could be a bit noisy at times, but luckily this was only during the day so we had good, restful sleeps at night. I accept that the hotel has a cost cutting policy which includes charging extra for fresh towels (for a stay less than 4 days) and breakfast. No problem when you know about this beforehand. You need to pay extra for the breakfast - it's not included in the price. The elevator was kind of a problem, didn't seem to be running well. I wish breakfast had been included like at the Comfort clarion hotels. But I get this is more of a bare bones hotel. Still very nice. Hard to say anything bad really. We found the room heating to be too hot for us-and it wasn't able to be adjusted. Also uphill walk from station was tricky with 3 wheely bags, but then maybe it was just the cobblestones. Nothing - it was great!. The only gap is that there is no breakfast (except of continental box for additional fee). Not so important as it's only 5 mins wailking distance from city center, but bare in mind when booking. Nothing, we were very happy with our stay!. I would have preferred a better breakfast option, but lots of cafes etc within walking distance, so problem solved. I regretted that I stayed just one night in this hotel,should booked all my holiday break at Comfort Hotel Xpress. The check in machines did not seem to work while we were there. Room is a bit small when you have 2 suitcases and cabin bags.They take up most of the walking space around the bed. But ok if your not in the room much of the day. The shower had no curtain. Not a major issue but it's easy to get the bathroom soaked if you're not careful. No closet, there is some hangers though... Could have somewhere in the room to open the luggage properly, and automatic check In didn't work, but was easily sort it out by the staff!. The breakfast left in a paper bag on the door room si not very good and the room Was very very hot!. Near a busy road and was very noisy but the city generally was noisy at night. Room very hot no ac in room although this is a very environmentally friendly hotel so respect this. Would not stop me coming back though. very small pillows. Not possible to leave your laptop in the reception after check out so you have to carry it with or leave it in the locker room where other people visit. Rather like the Travelodge chain in UK - very basic. Foam mattress. Accommodation very small and squashed in. Single room very tiny, no table. Consider booking a double - small for two people, fine for one. The room was almost clean, there was a long black hair stuck in the retractable mirror in the bathroom (room 201)..disgusting to be honest but we were too tired to make a deal out of it. The shelf under the tv was broken and therefore we couldnt use it which was a shame considering the storage is so limited anyway. The room is v small but that didnt really bother us too much as we just stayed one night but if someone was to stay longer it may be an issue. Only one person at the reception, so long waiting for a request. Only can check in after 3 pm, extra payment for early check in !!!!!!!!.
