As soon as I stepped into the Hotel I was amazed by the decor and
traditional interior design. A staff member said I couldn't check
in before 3pm (it was 12.30pm) but he said I could leave my bag there.
So I left the building and went for my excursion to the Shirakawa-Go
Unesco Village and came back around 7pm and he kindly checked me in.

I really like the onsen in Takayama Ouan. They have 3 private onsen to choose. So if you don't want to go to public onsen they've other option. The breakfast is great and a lot of choices. My family really enjoyed the breakfast. Location is good also close to the train station. You can just walked for 5 minutes to the hotel from the station.

The staff is nice and friendly. There was a receptionist that worked during the evening hours, her English was good and she was really helpful! Whenever I had a question or needed something she would even go out of her way to help me.

The room was really nice, a little old fashioned, but was more than adequate. We had a view of the mountains and loads of greenery. I would have to say that the best part of the hotel, would be their Onsen. The onsen is located inside the hotel, it had an indoor and outdoor onsen, the Onsen was extremely clean and well stocked. The hotel also provided a shuttle bus service to and fro from the hotel, morning market and train station. It was really convenient. The staff were all incredibly friend

The room was very large for Japan with a western style bathroom. The Japanese breakfast was lovely and very well presented with a little flaming oven for a local specialty. Excellent hotel. We had a wonderful stay: beautiful public bath, spacious tradicional rooms with amazing view of the city. Extremely helpful staff although do not speak a lot of English. Breakfast was included and if was delicious!! As it is quite far away from the station they offer a shuttle free bus to the station at mornings.
They even gave us a traditional tissue as a gift!!
