Really very good location. Quite close to Piazza del Duomo, and few minutes walk to the railway station. We cannot find it on via Roma at first, for we cannot believe this would be a B&B when looked outside. The decoration is very friendly, and the staff are helpful. Lift is in ancient style, though very small, but quite interesting. Breakfast is well prepared each morning. This is the best B&B we have experienced in Italy. We will strongly recommand it to our friends.
all reviews » A total class act. This B&B over exceeded my expectations in every way. You will not find a better location in Florence. Located just a few feet from Florence Cathedral, this hotel/B&B exudes so much class with a affordable rate. The room, shower and bathroom are what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Staff are friendly and happy to speak English to their guests. Total class act, when I come back this WILL BE the hotel I try to stay at again. Grazie!. Alessandro was an amazing host, making us feel at home from the time we arrived to the time we left. He was very accommodating and gracious.....he helped us with our bags, printed our opera voucher, helped us with directions, and allowed us to store our luggage while we continued to explore Florence after checking out. The location is superb, the room clean and nicely appointed, and a nice continental breakfast. This bed & breakfast is ideally situated within walking distance of all the sights you want to see in Firenze (Florence). Right behind the Duomo - you could not get lost after a day of walking & sightseeing. The staff is extremely helpful, polite & accommodating. The breakfast choices were plentiful. Facilities are clean & roomy. Would stay here again on a return trip to Firenze!. Salotto is situated at such ideal location next to the Deomo cathedral n next to Gucci. Right in the town center!! The single room is Very clean n comfortable!Alessandra the Manager in charge is excellent in his service to all guest!!even after check out he ensure am able to return to hotel to pick up my stored luguages with set of keys!! The location was central to everything we wanted to see. 10 euro taxi ride from the train station, could easily have walked if we weren't pulling a lot of bags. The overall experience was wonderful and gave the feeling of having your own place in the heart of the city. It was so convenient being able to pop back anytime between visits to the nearby attractions. The owner, Allessandro, was also very friendly and efficient. The elevator in the building was definitely a big plus to help us bring our bags upstairs since there are not a lot of buildings in Florence that have one. This hotel is LITERALLY on the door sep of the duomo. I thought it looked better than the photos it has up. Diego was a great host and gave me tips on where to go etc. The room as spacious and very clean. Definitely will stay here again!. I would highly recommend taking the train to Florence to avoid driving to the B&B.....driving in the heart of the city was a bit nerve-wracking and it took a while to get in and out of the city because of traffic. Unfortunately not able to extend stay 1 more night as the 6 rooms hotel is fully book!! Check out time early at 11.30am n check in time has to be before 1.pm!!. The cleaning was not so good, the sheets and the pillow case had stains, not recent ones although, but they should take more attention to this, it gives a frumpish and uncarefull feeling and it simply cannot happen. Our room was tirned to the backyard and a lot of loise came from there, the window isolation is not so good. The bed was terrible in the first room. Not that quiet in my room at the back with vans manoeuvring early and late in the day. I much preferred the bells from the nearby Duomo!. One staff member didn't understand English too much but she was very friendly and made every effort to try to understand though. There's not much choice for the breakfast. But it has a small kitchen, so I can buy things from supermarkets nearby and DIY. From the canteen/corridor, I can hear the neighboring couple very well :P. Not much to not like...amazing place that can recommend to anybody, especially a young couple. Make sure you find out exactly how to operate the door keys as reception is not manned 24 hours!. Duomo bells can be heard in the room (at 7 am and 8 am in our case). They woke me up. No signage in the lift to indicate what floor the B&B is situated on - would have been very helpful. Just the breakfast could be a bit more continental .. But still nice .. And the tv channels are not really in european languages avalable (english ,german ) a lot italian chanels ,arabic ,turkish ) but ok , you shouldn't spend time in front of the tv in that beautiful city ;). Nothing to complain about! Late risers might not like the church bells at 7am, but you don't want to stay in bed when in Florence. Wouldn't recommend for wheelchair users due to small lift and a couple of stairs to enter the building with no ramps. It would have been nice to have more kinds of food for breakfast. But again, this wasnt a big thing. wish could stay longer!!!!. The mattress could use replacing as it was too firm and rolled toward the center. I think that the breakfast could have had some protein like meat and cheese, rather than only pastries and other baked goods. Nothing, everything was great.. The rooms differ from one another. Our room was towards the inner yard and was a bit dark. The breakfast choise was quite limited - very continental style. Breakfast selection somewhat limited. Some people didn't like the small elevator but we didn't bother with it because the b&b is only one flight off the ground. Nothing!. Breakfast could have been better. Every morning the bells at the Duomo started ringing at 7 a.m and then after every 15 minutes until 7:45. Breakfest was only cereal and bread. could do better in cleanness of sheets and sofa. Driving our rental car through the city- it was very hard to find and quite frustrating. Keeping our fingers crossed that we didn't violate too many ZLT's and that our phone bill isn't too high from having to make many calls to host for directions. Breakfast - terrible. Parking is horrendous.
