Room was brilliant and beds were luxurious. I am very critical usually but this hotel room was perfect in every way. The price was very reasonable. The hotel was central and easily found but car is needed. Parking also excellent. staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating....room was very clean and comfortable... great attention to detail....worthy of each of its four stars..... breakfast top notch....definitely recommend this hotel.
all reviews » The quiteness of the Private 4th floor was great. Bar had lovely atmosphere, staff were really helpful and kind and friendly, makes a huge difference. We stayed in an executive room which was first rate and excellent value for money. The room service breakfast was prompt, hot and well presented.I loved my stay in the Clayton was a great experience the comfort and cleanliness of the Hotel was perfect the staff, food and room was great. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. Car park lift direct to all floors very handy. No noise.the staff were very friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable, the pool was lovely. I've stayed at the clayton numerous times, im not sure what it is but i love staying there. there is no abundance of staff yet everthing is there at hand in a friendly manner including the owner who indeed is a very plesant man.I liked the room facilities and the comfort of the room, the hotel is lovely, very modern and very clean, the parking was facility was great, and the bistro food was very nice. The size of the room was very nice. The staff and service was excellent.The food and drink was great too.Rooms were ready earlier than expected, the hotel was very clean and rooms were nice and spacious. room was very impressive. As the hotel was outside of the city, the courtesy car was a welcome surprise. On arrival, we were allocated an executive room which overlooked the dual carriageway - noise levels were similar to Formula One!! Fortunately another room was available in a quieter location. Gym, too small and the equipments were ancient, gym closed between 11am and 4pm. toilet was real hard to flush. Lift to 2nd floor not working - no offer by staff to bringluggage to room. Bar food was only ok. the hotel is about 4 km from the city centre however it is serviced by the number 3 bus from eyre square on a frequent basis.I didnt like the fact that the restaurant prices were increased during race week. Already paying inflated price to stay there so I thought this was a bit much. While the room was very quiet and sleep was not disturbed, there was quite a walk from reception whichever lift one used. Long walk from reception to trhe room. No water in the rooms.the hotel was really nice, but one thing let it down a lot, we booked a meal in the hotel resturant for Valentines night, the service was very poor, the food was not great, as it was Valentines night, it was not very romantic at all... i was not at all happy with the service in the resturant.. but the rest of my stay was very nice... it was just a pity that it was let down by this... If I was honest i didn't understand the leisure areas opening times. I was disappointed to find it closed shortly after breakfast one morning.leisure facility was very small and pool was cold. Pool didn't open until 5pm and was water was very cold, gym is also quite small. Kiddies meals in restaurant were €15 per child even for 3 year olds chicken and chips which was expensive.I had a small issue with early accommodation staff, but was handled by a professional receptionst. I'm sorry i don't know her name personally. The variety of food in the Tribes Restaurant could have been better. It is stated on claytons website, that the hotel was 2km away from thecitycenter, this seemed inaccurate when travelling to and from thecitycenter. They also stated there was free internet connections in eachroom, ours wasnt working, after requesting for help, it still didnt work. road noise. Limited Room Service Menu. Female travellers dont always want to sit in a bar/restaurant alone. On the first night there was a function on which kept us awake until2.30am!!!!! We could hear all the music. After complaining 3 times, wehad to change rooms!!!!!. Buffet breakfast was disappointing and lacked many items that were listed on room service menu. Staff were rude and abrupt. no spa far from town room smallish and very warm small bed.

The hotel is located 4 km from Eyre Square in Galway City Centre. There is a regular bus service from Eyre Square to Ballybrit. The No.9 bus stops outside the entrance to the hotel. Taxis are easily got to and from the hotel. By Car From Dublin: Continue on the M4 from Dublin. From Ballinasloe, keep going straight on the M6. As you approach Galway, you will come to two roundabouts. At the first roundabout take the second exit, following signs for Galway City West. At the second roundabout (Lynch), take the first exit, the hotel entrance is on the right hand side. From Mayo: Enter Galway on the N84 and take the first exit on the Kirwan roundabout, the second exit on the Font roundabout, the second exit on the Morris roundabout, and the third exit on the Lynch roundabout and turn in to the hotel on the right hand side. From Sligo: Enter Galway on the N17 on the Tuam road to the Font roundabout; take the first exit to the Morris roundabout. At the Morris roundabout take the second exit to the Lynch roundabout and the third exit on the Lynch roundabout. Turn in to the hotel on the right hand side. From Limerick or Shannon: Enter Galway on the N18. At the Carrowmoneash roundabout take the second exit, then take the second exit at the Martin Roundabout. At the Lynch roundabout, take the first exit. The hotel entrance is on the right hand side.
