The Bali Agung is in a beautiful, peaceful location and only a short walk to shops/restaurants and the beach. A perfect hotel if you want to relax but also want to be in close proximity to shopping/bars etc. Magnificent and well tended gardens, beautiful Balinese-style accommodation, lovely swimming pool. Very efficiently run with exceptional and attentive staff. I certainly didn't experience any type of "hard sell" to use taxis, tours etc. Clean and comfortable air-conditioned room with a big .
all reviews » We absolutely loved how friendly and helpful all the staff at Bali Agung were. The pool was very relaxing and looked amazing! The pool bar was handy too ;) Our room was small but lovely, just perfect for myself and boyfriend. The walk from the reception to our villa was also extremely visually satisfying. Right outside the Village is a street full of markets which was great and there was also an Australian owned and managed restaurant called Lucky Day which was by far our favourite place we ate. It is a quiet, beautiful, tranquile and soulful hotel. great location, close to lots of restaurants and shopping in Seminyak, yet so quiet and peaceful. We stayed in The villa and enjoyed it so much that we came back at the end of our trip but only managed to get the standard rooms then which are small and not as spacious. Although the windows and doors don't close properly but they have mosquito net around the bed in the villas as well as repellent plug-in which worked efficiently. The bathroo. Beautiful modern, Balinese style villa! The gardens are lovely and we enjoyed the semi outdoor shower with large rainfall shower head. We had some problems with the hot water a few of the nights and the staff acted quickly to fix it for us. The hotel is tucked away from the main road, which was a plus with our young child as it was a quieter location. But it's not too far to venture to the streets with a pram. There is a prayer room in the villa, which acted perfectly as our young daughters ro. Bali Augung is a great place! Despite the location difficult to find, it is close to the beach and to the main road in Seminyak. The style is traditional Indonesian, rooms are clean and the price is cheap compared to the service offered. The only bad point was the breakfast, but this is general in Bali. I would recommend this hotel.. You can easily walk to the beach and rent a scooter directly at the reception for only 4 euro per day. Moreover they offer the transportation to the airport for th. The only complaint I could make was I had an allergic reaction to the washing detergent used on the sheets. My face was a little swollen for a couple hours in the mornings. The doors and windows to our villa also didn't shut completely. We were provided with a padlock for security, however loads of mosquitos got through the gaps. The water heater is 10 liter capacity only, so you need to be quick with showering!. The room service was a little underdone, only our beds were made and bins changed. A little more effort restocking complimentary water and cleaning up room service plates from previous nights was forgotten. There were quite a few mosquitos, but they didn't bite the whole 6nights we were there. The hotel is in reasonable proximity to the beach, bars, restaurant and shops, but I've decided that that general area of Bali is not for me. It clearly suits many others however. - a bit far from the beach. Villas are very close to one another.Can hear conversation etc from neighbours! There are no comfortable chairs inside the villas therefore only place to sit is on the bed! A couple of chairs would make all the difference. Nothing really, would thoroughly recommend it. The hotel is located in a little street, which means it's quiet and you have more privacy, but if you want to walk back to the hotel at night it's a little dark and lonely. Owner is a little "over trying" to sell his Travel Agent skills but it is ok if you do not accept. The Seminyak is not really a "dream place" I would stay there for a short period of time only . The one aspect of our trip we didn't like was the reservation of sunbeds, a simple note stating that the beds are on a first come first serve would be very helpful as we had people reserving beds then going out this was very frustrating as you didn't know if the person was using it or not. I think the staff are too poilte to mention to the guests so to take the emphasis away from the staff a simple notice displayed would suffice. The shower pressure was very slow but it was bearable. nothing to complain. Sometimes the breakfast was cold would have tasted nicer warm- hot. Some of the properties leading up to the village were a little bit grotty. The Air Conditioning was substandard compared to other hotels. Doors locked via outside padlock and shutter windows. Old Style - beautiful and peaceful otherwise. Outside calls via reception. nothing. Slow wifi-useless,low water pressure,no bin or extra plug points in room,unfocused restaurant staff,too much smokers in restaurant-no seperate area. nothing. Obviously is not beach front... but you wouldn't expect it at this price range. Gaps in roof and door allowing mosqitos in. Bathroom door and front door not very safe, dont lock properly. Breakfast could be better, there are no healthy choices really apart from fruit. Everything they have for breakfast isn't good quality. Kuta/Seminyak are not what I expected. Hidden away down alley, hard to find. To walk anywhere, we had to go past very pushy shop owners, who constantly harassed us!. Limited choice of food and was a little out of the way to get to 'eat street'. The amazing number of mosquitoes in my room on the last night; they prevented me from sleeping. Not enough beds at the swimmingpool. Nothing. Showers need to be cleaned a little more thoroughly. Loundrydetail could be more swift. Apple pie. The quality of 2nd hand longboards, not enough of them in good standing!. Unfortunately the hotel is stating to show it's age. Our room was older and the bathroom facilities while basic did not meet the standard expected. The room was dark and lacked atmosphere. Entry driveway, muddy, with messy and dirty surroundings from neighboring properties. Boring breakfast giving no confidence in kitchen's ability to do a good dinner. Having to wait wait for one and a half hour for pickup 4 Km way. The privacy of the accommodations is limited. The windows and doors do not close really well. Compared to other accommodations, it is less luxurious (E.G. hot water is not/limited available, free wi-fi is not very reliable). Lizard in the room No basic hot water kettle in the room. Bit outdated. It has seen better days. Not shabby. walking back at night along a dark area. Cannot lock room doors well especially villas Mosquitos Te bad in and out of rooms due to no sealed windows or doors Pool is bad needs major cleaning Breakfast is European continental at best, coffee is just watery drip no taste.
