Efficient,helpful,friendly reception at front desk when booking in ,greeted with a cool refresher towel and suitcases carried to our room.Room had traditional decor, clean, cold air-con, toiletries topped up each day on room service with 2 free bottles of water.Very relaxing,comfortable and safe atmosphere. Many staff members looking after our needs.Each time you pass a staff member there is always a friendly hello. Walking around the hotel was a delight in its self. Seeing many gardens, flower.
all reviews » We stayed in Villa 115 which we enjoyed immensley it was quiet and restful. Enjoyed the lovely body gel shampoo and moisturiser replaced every day. We also enjoyed the cookies provided daily . Initially when we arrived we were quite disappointed with the villa originally designated to us (my husband and myself are in our 80's and did ask that consideration be given as we were elderly) The villa shown to us had the shower positioned over a sunken bath and we were unable to negotiate the task of . As a family with boys aged 18,15 &12 we booked 2 Alam Villas right next to each other. Worked out perfectly. The villas were fantastic. Great beds and the bathrooms were impressive. We were looking for a hotel with bungalow style accomodation that had a nice 'feel' and we were really happy with the atmosphere, beautiful gardens and helpful, friendly staff. Location was perfect. Right across from Kuta beach, close to markets and family friendly restaurants & bars. And a quick $2 taxi rid. Location: this is one of the few small hotels left n the beachfront at Kuta Legian and offers immediate acces to the wonderful surf beach across a moderately busy road. It is also within walking distance from the Kuta shopping area but well away from the noisy nightlife of Kuta. The resort has a strong feeling of ntimimac and privacy with shady lanes and courtyards and two swimming pools. Everything is at a low key and intimate. The breakfast is excellent with western, Indonesian and Chinese f. Everything. It ws a bit of a walk to reach some things but I was aware of that when I booked it. The staff were fantastic with a few personal touchs such: Knowing it was my birthday and preparing me a cake (for breakfast!). The chap who cleaned our room making a point of knowing our names and leaving us a hand written "best wishes" letter the day prior to us leaving. There were several other personalised incidents which occured allowing myself and my two teenage daughters to feel a little bet. The staff is amazing! they entertain your every little requests, for example allowing us to bring our breakfast to the pool just because our 3 year old daughter refused to leave the pool and doesnt feel like going to the restaurant. I also lost one of the room key cards and they brushed it off and didnt charge me a single penny.the hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and kuta beach is right across the road.the food is delicious too!. Really lovely place, Staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Family Room very spacious and serviced daily to a high standard. Facilities were great, especially the pool and poolside bar. Lovely atmosphere and looked forward to going back to hotel each evening. The kids loved it and felt very safe there as did we. Would absolutely reccomend this place without hesitation. This is one of the few hotels in the area with a real Balinese relaxed atmosphere. Given the location about 30m from the beach and all above, it was excellent value for money. There are many surf schools nearby and all kind of cafes for any taste and money. The main street Jalan Legian with bars, restorants and disco is 5 minutes of walk. Bathrooms could do with an upgrade. Internet in the room can be slow sometimes. (At the pools and lobby was always good). Breakfasts are too expencive to have then in the hotel. There were some mosquitoes in the room. Had to spray all the time. The bathroom was a little dated and would benefit from some up grade. One or two staff were presenting themselves for gratuities, which was unnecessary. Needs a refurbishment especially the garden pool area. Wi-fi was not working for half of the period of my stay. There was humidity smell in my room, which we could feel every time we walked into the room. The swimming pools are fine and clean but they look much bigger and prettier in the hotel pictures. Needs a bit more lighting in the rooms but other than that everything else was great. It is a shame it is being dwarfed by the new hotels around it. Minor details... Ei wifi code not in welcome pack... Art from that they had nothing wrong,. 1) Though they have mosquito repellent, they are still a few in the room. 2) The water smells. Nothing to dislike. I didn't like the mosquitoes getting into the room. Could have a mesh wire over the opening in the bathroom to stop them getting in. Also the lighting in the room was too dark. Breakfast was expensive. All of the above + + + only apply to the placement of the villas. Small pool, but with the nearby sea is not so important. Shame that both pools were not operational. Garden Pool did not open until 10am. My steak sandwich had long black hairs in it. facilities old and need some upgrades. Bars prices to high. First night I realized that my bed sheets aren't completely clean. They changed it in the morning when I asked. So check the sheets when you arrive if you don't want any bad surprises. Also water drain in the bath was stuck and water didn't go off. They fixed it next day though. Room was smaller than was thought to be and a bit dated. Mosquitos constantly but given lots of bug spray Walls of our villa quite thin and heard a lot of outside noise from other guests. Lighting is very poor at night specially for children. The beach at the front - in Kuta - is not nice. Is not the best place to go to the beach. the room cleanliness could improve. Room smelled a little damp. Room next to us were very noisy at night. - the quadra rooms are at the very back end of the hotel & feels like in hospital. - breakfast can be improved by adding more variety of chees. - long distance to the shops, bars & restaurants. Although we sprayed the room for mosquitos three times a day they were always there in hordes. Didn't notice them outside as much as in the room. Sometimes a bad smell floods some parts of the hotel. Manager too busy to talk to customers. Nothing. It will be great if Alamkulkul provide Shuttle from airport to hotel.
